Benefits of paying pensions and allowances through accounts

In order to gradually reduce some intermediate steps, facilitate the timely and accurate payment of pensions and social benefits to beneficiaries, and ensure the rights of the people, Lam Thao District Social Insurance (SI) has implemented monthly pension and social insurance benefits payments through personal accounts for beneficiaries. This is a form of payment that brings practical benefits to people, meeting the practical requirements and trends of modern life.

Benefits of paying pensions and allowances through accounts

Lam Thao District Social Insurance propagates benefits and guides people to carry out procedures to receive pensions through accounts.

As a pensioner via bank account, Mr. Le Quang Binh, Hung Son town, Lam Thao district said: “When receiving pension via bank account, I find it very convenient, in line with the digital transformation trend that our country is implementing. Pension is paid on time, quickly, easy to look up, does not require many confirmation documents like before. I also regularly encourage retirees in the residential area to switch to this method.”

Mr. Trieu Quang Truong, Lam Thao town, Lam Thao district also receives his pension through his bank account. He shared: “I have registered to receive my pension through my bank account. Now I do not need to go to the pension payment point as before, instead, my pension has been transferred directly to my bank account, saving time, ensuring convenience and safety.”

It can be seen that the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits through bank accounts is a step in administrative procedure reform in line with the trend of the times and in accordance with the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister on promoting the payment of social security services through non-cash payment methods. This work has been receiving the consensus and support of the majority of people in Lam Thao district.

Lam Thao district currently has 8,510 people receiving monthly pensions and social insurance benefits. By the end of September 2024, the district's Social Insurance had paid monthly pensions and social insurance benefits via bank accounts to 3,646 people, reaching 43% of the total monthly beneficiaries. In particular, the urban area including Hung Son town and Lam Thao town has a rate of monthly pension and social insurance benefits paid via bank accounts reaching 65-70% of the total monthly beneficiaries in the area. Specifically, in Hung Son town, payments were made via accounts to 1,430/2,215 people, reaching 65%; in Lam Thao town, payments were made via accounts to 646/920 people, reaching 70%.

To effectively implement the payment of monthly pensions and social insurance benefits through bank accounts in the district, according to Mr. Nguyen Chi Dai - Director of Lam Thao District Social Insurance, the district Social Insurance has actively coordinated with relevant agencies and units to advise the District People's Committee to direct communes and towns to establish working groups to implement non-cash payments for pensioners and social insurance benefits in the area. Strengthen propaganda about the superiority of non-cash payments for pensioners and monthly social insurance benefits.

At the same time, coordinate with the People's Committees of communes and towns, the Commune Police, and local joint stock commercial banks to organize conferences to promote cashless pension payments in each residential area. Through the conference, the aim is to explain to beneficiaries the benefits of receiving pensions and social insurance benefits through accounts, and guide beneficiaries to register to open accounts directly. Thereby, contributing to the overall success of the "campaign" to encourage beneficiaries to register to receive pensions and social insurance benefits through non-cash payment methods in Phu Tho.
