It has become a tradition that at around 5am, from peaceful villages to bustling cities, from the elderly, middle-aged people to young people and children, everyone can find joy and benefits from participating in physical exercise and sports to recharge their energy for a new, effective working day.
Women of Dan Luc commune (Trieu Son) participate in folk dance and sports practice at the cultural house of Xuan Tien village.
According to observations, each person, depending on their age and health, chooses a suitable sport for themselves. The elderly practice in groups with gentle, slow exercises. Young people choose fast, strong and systematic forms of the whole group, forming groups that take place in a lively way such as jogging, playing badminton, playing soccer... The majority of the rest choose to exercise in simple ways such as: sports dance, yoga, swimming, walking, cycling, exercising on the spot with exercise equipment installed by local authorities in parks.
For over 18 years, Mr. Hoang Van Nga, Dong Son ward (Thanh Hoa city), has maintained his morning exercise habit regularly. Every morning, around 4 o'clock, he jogs from his house to Bo Ve park to exercise. Therefore, although he is over 70 years old, he looks much younger than his actual age. Mr. Nga confided: "Before, I often had joint pain, when I woke up in the morning my body was sore and dizzy. But after exercising in the morning, I feel my body is slimmer and firmer, especially my spirit is refreshed, comfortable and I no longer have joint pain."
In Dong Huong ward (Thanh Hoa city), Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa has chosen health care as her companion for the past 15 years and proves that it is never too late to start a healthy lifestyle. This subject not only helps her maintain her body's flexibility and suppleness but also brings her a refreshing spirit and a peaceful soul. According to her: "Everyone is under a lot of pressure at work and in life, exercising is the best way to reduce stress. Since exercising, I feel my health has improved a lot. Above all, I have also built many close, intimate relationships with my fellow exercisers, contributing to making life more colorful and meaningful."
Regularly, at around 5am and 6pm at the cultural house of Xuan Tien village, Dan Luc commune (Trieu Son), women in colorful costumes and energetic, cheerful dances combined with laughter and music have created a vibrant, joyful atmosphere. Mastering each movement, the graceful and rhythmic dance, Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh, in Tien Moc village, said: "I love sports folk dancing because it not only brings a healthy body, good health but also brings moments of fun and relaxation every day". Ms. Binh shared more, sports folk dancing is very easy to learn, the dance steps are simple so any woman can dance. The proficient person teaches the new person and everyone learns the lessons online and practices each movement together, creating an atmosphere of solidarity and closeness. Along with that, the practice clothes are comfortable, easy to choose, suitable for many women. Therefore, sports folk dancing has attracted many women to participate.
Currently, in Dan Luc commune, the folk dance sports movement has developed in 13/13 villages. In addition to participating in folk dance sports at the cultural house, the sisters of the folk dance sports teams also regularly organize exchanges with each other. In particular, with a passion for folk dance sports and a desire to exchange and participate in events with many other localities, in August 2023, Dan Luc commune established the Dan Luc commune folk dance sports club, attracting more than 20 women who are outstanding members, actively practicing and mastering dances in participating villages.
Health experts have confirmed that morning exercise brings many undeniable benefits. It not only helps improve physical health, strengthen the immune system, but also has a positive impact on the spirit, reduces stress and increases concentration. Moreover, morning exercise is also an opportunity for people to meet, exchange, and create a healthy, close-knit community. In the past, morning exercise was mostly focused on the elderly and some people with health problems who had to exercise under the guidance of a doctor, but now the number of young people participating in exercise is increasing, especially women who are very active in exercising to lose weight, making their bodies slim, toned, and youthful with aerobics and aesthetic gymnastics. Women research and learn to have their own exercises... That is why every morning on the streets and street corners is always bustling with the joyful, excited atmosphere of a new day.
To support people's physical exercise, Thanh Hoa City and the campus areas of communes and towns in rural areas are equipped with many free outdoor exercise equipment, effective tools to support physical exercise. The elderly, teenagers, regardless of gender, can comfortably exercise on the installed exercise equipment... This is a meaningful and truly practical public sports model, creating conditions for people to exercise safely, free of charge, effectively, and at the same time attracting a large number of people to participate in physical exercise to improve their health.
