On the evening of June 21, the 18th National Press Awards Ceremony, 2023 - the most prestigious award of the press in the country took place solemnly at the Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Cultural Palace (Hanoi).
President To Lam attended and spoke at the ceremony.
Also attending were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia; Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang; Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh; Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the National Press Awards Council Le Quoc Minh; along with representatives of central and local departments, ministries, branches, veteran journalists, and award-winning authors.

Prize A in the category of Editorial, Commentary, Special Essay (Print Newspaper) was awarded to the series of 3 articles: "Perceiving and resolving well the major relationships in the process of innovation towards socialism in Vietnam" by author Le Hai - Communist Magazine Journalists Association.
Series of 3 articles: "Global Geopark is "butchered" by the group of authors Bui Thanh Hai, Nguyen Thanh Son - Today's Rural Newspaper, Central Journalists Association of Vietnam Farmers' Association was awarded the A prize in the categories of Reportage, Investigative Reportage, Journalistic Notes, Notes (Printed Newspaper).
In the category of News, reflections, interviews, comments, monographs, talks, and general radio topics (Radio), the A prize was awarded to the work: "Return" by the group of authors Nguyen Vu Duy, Nguyen Thi Thu Hoa, Nguyen Pham Huan, Nguyen Quynh Hoa - Current Affairs Department, Voice of Vietnam Radio Journalists Association.
Category: Reportage, investigative reportage, memoir (Radio), the Organizing Committee awarded the A prize to a series of 3 articles: "Why is money for poor ethnic minorities "locked" in the treasury?" by the group of authors Trinh Dinh Thieu (Dinh Thieu), Nguyen Long Phi (Long Phi) - Resident agency of the Central region, Association of Journalists of Voice of Vietnam.
The work: "The pain of the mother river" by the group of authors Nguyen Anh Tuan (Anh Tuan), Chu Sy Thanh (Chu Thanh) - Vietnam Television Journalists Association excellently won the A prize in the category of News, reportage, and documentary (Television).

According to the assessment of the Final Jury of the 18th National Press Awards - 2023, the highlight this year is: Multimedia press products are invested in elaborately and attractively. Many press agencies have innovated, approached modern journalism technology, developed multi-platform, multimedia journalism and creative forms of journalism to increase attractiveness and public accessibility. In addition to central press agencies, some local newspapers and radio stations have also changed in the way of choosing topics and themes and implementing them in new and modern ways, which are highly appreciated for both quality and form of expression. It can be seen that through each season, the quality of the entries is getting better and better, the gap between central and local press is increasingly narrowing.
The annual National Press Awards are a major event that attracts special attention from the press nationwide. They are the most prestigious awards for outstanding press works that have made positive contributions to the country's press career, honoring authors and groups of authors with the best works. Entering the 18th year, which is also the 99th year of Vietnam's revolutionary press, the prestige of the National Press Awards continues to be firmly affirmed. The value and image of the Awards are widely spread throughout all levels of the Association and its members. Many large Associations and Associations have maintained good quality of works submitted to the Awards; many provincial Journalists Associations have invested in everything from topic selection to supporting the improvement of quality and selection of works submitted to the Awards...
