On the morning of July 7, at the Can Tho City Party Committee Hall, the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the family solemnly held a funeral for comrade Le Phuoc Tho (Sau Hau), former member of the Politburo, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Central Organization Committee, according to the State Funeral ceremony.
President Vo Van Thuong, former President Nguyen Minh Triet, former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission Truong Thi Mai, many former leaders of the Party and State; leaders of the National Assembly; leaders of central and local departments, ministries and branches came to pay their respects to comrade Le Phuoc Tho.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, former President Truong Tan Sang and many other leaders and former leaders of the Party and State sent wreaths to pay their respects to comrade Le Phuoc Tho.

At the funeral, leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, central ministries, branches and provinces and cities burned incense, paid tribute, remembered and expressed their condolences to comrade Le Phuoc Tho, an excellent and prestigious leader of the Party, State and people.
Writing in the condolence book and expressing condolences to the family of comrade Le Phuoc Tho, President Vo Van Thuong emphasized: Comrade is a leader who has made many contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, and is loved and respected by cadres, party members and people.
Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai emotionally wrote in the condolence book: "Deeply mourning comrade Le Phuoc Tho, former member of the Politburo, former Head of the Central Organization Committee, an excellent leader with great prestige of the Party, State and people. A loyal communist party member, he devoted his life to the independence, freedom and unification of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people, for the ideals of the Party. Over 90 years old, over 70 years of Party membership, he made many great contributions to the Party and the people, and was a shining example for future generations. I respectfully bow my head and bid farewell to Uncle Sau Hau".
Comrade Le Phuoc Tho (commonly known as Sau Hau), born on December 25, 1927; hometown: Tan Loc Commune, Ca Mau District, Minh Hai Province (now Thoi Binh District, Ca Mau Province). He held the following positions: Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, term IV; Member of the Party Central Committee, term V, VI, VII; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, term VI, VII; Member of the Politburo, term VII; Head of the Central Organization Committee; Head of the Central Agriculture Committee; Secretary of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee and Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee; National Assembly delegate, term VIII, IX. During more than 70 years of revolutionary activities, he made many contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation; he was awarded the Ho Chi Minh Medal by the Party and the State, the 75-year Party membership badge and many other noble medals and honors. |
