Suoi Thau 3 is the most remote, highest and most difficult village in Nam Chac commune (Bat Xat district) with the Mong and Dao ethnic groups living for generations. Although not blessed with favorable conditions for economic development, the people of Suoi Thau 3 village are always hard-working and are a united and strong community. The person who plays the role of a bond that binds the village and neighborhood is Village Chief Tan Y Chu, whose family with 3 generations of Party members is a shining example of economic development in Suoi Thau 3 village.

The road to the house of Village Chief Tan Y Chu (born in 1979) is far and arduous, the road connecting the houses is only about 1 meter wide and has not been concreted due to the difficult economic conditions of the households. Tan Y Chu's family is building a new house, the families in the village help with labor so that the project can be completed soon. Exchanging labor for each other has become a beautiful tradition that exists in the Dao community of Suoi Thau 3 village from generation to generation. Chu sadly said: My father's wish to live in a solidly built house has just come true but he is no longer with his family and children.

Tan Y Chu's father was the first party member of Nam Chac commune. Tan Y Chu was always proud of his family tradition, of his father who was a shining example of gathering the first "bricks" to build the foundation of this tradition. Despite the difficult family circumstances, he always taught his children to go to school, learn to read and write, and later contribute to building the village and their homeland. He himself was always an exemplary leader for his children to look up to and follow. In addition to working and contributing to the Party and the State, he and his wife worked hard to grow crops, raise livestock, and teach their children to study. As a result, in the highlands of Suoi Thau 3, the three brothers: Tan Y Chu, Tan Lao Lo, and Tan Su May all studied well, had ideals, and goals to strive for, and later became cadres, party members, and prestigious people trusted by the people.

Now recalling the process of striving to join the Party, Mr. Tan Y Chu cannot help but be moved and emotional. At the age of 18 or 20, Mr. Tan Y Chu worked for the Youth Union and Association in the commune. Those were the days when young people were proactively dedicating themselves to the life of their homeland and villages; rushing to the front lines when natural disasters occurred; being active and creative in implementing activities to help people level houses, build roads, help single-parent households plant and harvest... With those contributions, in 2001, Mr. Tan Y Chu officially became a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

“That was a sacred and proud moment for me because I knew how much my father believed in me. The day I was admitted to the Party, my parents cooked a meal with meat to celebrate. During that meal, my father taught my two younger siblings to try to follow his example,” Tan Y Chu shared.

With a strong political stance and wholeheartedly serving the Party and the People, Tan Y Chu's family is always creative and applies high technology in economic development. Overcoming difficult natural conditions, his family finds plants and breeds suitable for the local climate and soil, diligently studies and learns effective farming and livestock techniques in newspapers and the internet to find a way to get rich right on their homeland. Up to now, Tan Y Chu's family has developed a livestock model including 10 breeding buffaloes, 5 pigs, more than 1,000 poultry; planting forests, corn, and rice. Annual income is about 200 million VND.

As the village chief, Mr. Tan Y Chu actively propagates and mobilizes the people of Suoi Thau 3 village to develop the economy. From his own experience, he is willing to share with the people effective livestock farming techniques to avoid diseases or how to grow and care for corn effectively, and experience in developing a breeding herd of buffalo. From there, many households in the village learn and follow. Previously, many families left their children at home to work for hire in foreign countries, after seeing the effective economic model of Mr. Tan Y Chu's family, they decided to start a business on their homeland. Life is therefore increasingly stable, the children in Suoi Thau 3 do not have to be away from their parents but are cared for and looked after with love.

The economy is stable, the poverty rate has decreased, Mr. Tan Y Chu's family is like a thread connecting the spirit of solidarity, helping each other develop production of other households in the village, Suoi Thau 3 village has no social evils, the security and order situation is stable, people comply with all policies and guidelines of the Party, policies and laws of the State.

With his contributions, Mr. Tan Y Chu has been elected as the village chief by the Party members and villagers since 2019. Inheriting the method of educating children from his father, an exemplary Party member, Mr. Tan Y Chu also teaches his children to overcome difficulties, persevere in studying, and contribute to building the village and hamlet to develop more and more. His daughter, Tan Ta May - the third generation of the family, was also honored to be admitted to the Party in 2017, becoming the youngest female ethnic minority Party member in Suoi Thau 3 village.

Mr. Lang Van Han, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nam Chac Commune, commented: Comrade Tan Y Chu's family currently has many generations of Party members, the most in Nam Chac Commune, always exemplary in implementing all policies of the Party, policies and laws of the State, actively developing the economy, contributing to building the homeland. The Party Committee and the government of Nam Chac Commune focus on praising typical examples to multiply the bright examples of families with exemplary Party members contributing to building a united and developed locality.
