Regarding this issue, Major General Dinh Van Noi - Director of Quang Ninh Provincial Police - also directed professional units to coordinate in investigating information related to the incident of 3 cars suspected to be "unlicensed taxis" running horizontally on National Highway 18, squeezing another company's taxi just because they picked up passengers near the entrance to Tuan Chau tourist area, Ha Long City.
Previously, a nearly 2-minute video appeared on social media, recording a taxi picking up passengers on Highway 18 (near the turnoff to Tuan Chau tourist area) and being continuously squeezed and cut off by 3 other cars on the road.
When the taxi was able to pass, the three cars lined up side by side and stopped to block the taxi carrying passengers. Then, these cars deliberately slowed down and continuously changed lanes to prevent the taxi from carrying passengers.
"I pick up each passenger to earn a few tens of thousands but I'm constantly being oppressed by illegal taxis like this. I really hope the Quang Ninh authorities will take action" - the male taxi driver said in the video.
According to the leader of the Quang Ninh Department of Transport, the unit has also received the information and is assigning other specialized local units to urgently investigate and coordinate with the provincial police to establish an interdisciplinary inspection team to clarify the incident and strictly handle it according to regulations.
