Hoa Lu Ancient Town is located in Ky Lan Mountain, Tan Thanh Ward, Ninh Binh City. The town looks like the setting of a period film.
Hoa Lu ancient town was restored, simulated and recreated the architecture, culture and history of Dai Viet in the 10th century. Since being put into operation in 2022, Hoa Lu ancient town has attracted a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to visit when coming to Ninh Binh.

Hoa Lu Ancient Town is divided into 2 areas. The product introduction area has many booths displaying traditional handicraft products, regional culinary specialties of craft villages in Ninh Binh province and other provinces and cities. Opening hours are from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily.

The food court gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy traditional dishes such as: honey cake, sticky rice cake, square cake, gai cake, day cake... In addition, there are countless snacks that appeal to both adults and children such as chicken feet, dumplings, fried sour rolls, fried chicken... In the evening, when the whole old town is lit up, visitors can experience boating in the middle of Ky Lan Lake, releasing flower lanterns, watching Tu An Tower and the ancient town sparkling at night. Hoa Lu ancient town is open for free to visitors all day, including holidays and Tet. Coming here, visitors can not only sightsee and enjoy cultural performances such as water puppetry, Tac Xinh dance, Then singing, Cheo singing, Xam singing... but also participate in interesting folk games such as jumping rope, jumping bamboo poles, tug of war, and eating mandarin squares... taking place from 7pm to 11pm every day. In addition, countless beautiful virtual living corners in Hoa Lu ancient town are always ready for visitors to check in. Some areas that many people visit to take photos are Ky Lan Lake, the Heritage Road painting, the incense counter, the wish card, Mau Temple, Bac Pagoda, the map "Vietnam in my eyes"... To have beautiful and unique photos, visitors should wear traditional costumes such as Ao Dai, Ao Yem, and ancient costumes to match the space of Hoa Lu ancient town. There are also many shops that rent traditional costumes to serve the needs of visitors. From Hanoi, to travel to Ninh Binh, visitors can choose to go by motorbike, private car, or public transport such as buses, trains, etc. There are 2 routes to Ninh Binh for visitors to choose from. One is to go along the Phap Van - Cau Gie - Ninh Binh highway. The other is to go along the old National Highway 1A - Ha Nam - turn towards Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa. The most ideal time to travel to Ninh Binh is around the beginning of spring from January to March and early summer from April to June.
