Ukraine faces the risk of total failure

Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that despite having "abundant supplies of weapons, including long-range weapons", the Ukrainian army was on the brink of complete defeat.

“ Despite the abundant supplies of weapons, including long-range weapons and intelligence… and the fact that the West is directly involved in the conflict with the aim of causing Russia a strategic defeat, the Ukrainian army is currently on the brink of complete defeat ,” the Russian diplomat said.

The Russian permanent representative added that the information he gave was based only on military reports proving that Ukraine's defense lines, whose construction took nearly eight years, are rapidly collapsing.

Mr Nebenzya noted that President Zelensky had come to the high-level week of the United Nations General Assembly in New York with “an outstretched hand” in an effort to persuade the West to increase aid.

The Russian representative called on Kiev to accept as quickly as possible ideas for resolving the crisis with long-term significance and not fall into unrealistic “victory schemes.”

Negotiations on Ukraine are inevitable

European officials tacitly acknowledged the necessity of talks on Ukraine amid Kiev's exhaustion, the Monde newspaper wrote.

“ Negotiations will take shape sooner or later, because the situation on the front is very difficult and Ukraine is exhausted ,” the newspaper quoted an unnamed diplomat from Europe as saying.

According to this diplomat, President Biden's pro-Kiev policy has shown its limitations. He believes that in the final months of his presidency, the US leader may change his approach towards resolving the conflict through diplomacy.

At the same time, the diplomat also said that countries like Germany, Britain and France are starting to think about ways to end the conflict.

Ukraine abandons several positions on Kursk front

According to Deputy Director of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces, Commander of the Akhmat special forces, Major General Apty Alaudinov, Ukrainian forces are abandoning positions en masse in Russia's Kursk.

“ We know that Ukraine has brought in foreign mercenaries and they are in Sudzha. Several foreign units have been deployed to several locations ,” said Mr. Alaudinov.

He also confirmed that foreign mercenaries were involved in combat operations and some other missions for Ukraine.

Russia responds as Ukraine declares conflict is nearing end

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the special military operation in Ukraine will only end when Russia achieves its goals in one way or another.

“ Every war ends in peace one way or another. For us, there is absolutely no other option than to achieve the set goal, ” Peskov said, commenting on President Zelensky’s statement that the conflict between the two countries was coming to an end.

Furthermore, he stressed: “ As soon as those goals are achieved in one way or another, the special military operation will be completed .”
