The rose of Cu Chi steel land just graduated from university and applied to join the army

Among 300 young people from the "steel and copper land" of Cu Chi who will join the army in 2025, the only woman, Nguyen Thi Dieu Linh, has volunteered to write an application to join the army, contributing to protecting the Fatherland in peacetime.

The girl born in 2002, residing in Ward 4, Cu Chi Town, Cu Chi District (HCMC) expressed her intention to "join the army" from 2022. However, at this time, Dieu Linh is a second-year student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology. Her family supports her decision, but does not want Dieu Linh to drop out of school, so they encourage her to finish university first.

I could have chosen a job after graduation and settled down like my other friends, but I wanted to wear a military uniform and contribute to my duty to the country, even if it was just a small part.

The daughter listened to her parents, temporarily put aside the idea of ​​joining the army and tried hard to study. So now that she has officially graduated from the English language major, Linh asked her parents for permission and volunteered to write an application wishing to join the military.

Dieu Linh was an active girl in the school's cultural and sports activities. During her high school years, she volunteered for the Hoa Phuong Do campaign and participated in performing arts at the military barracks.

Linh shared the knowledge she learned about soldiers, the familiar image of soldiers rushing into danger to help people during epidemics, natural disasters and floods made her love the soldier's uniform even more.

"I saw the image of the majestic female commando "steel rose" so I wished and nurtured the will to join the ranks of Uncle Ho's army. Now that is about to come true," Linh laughed.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Duyen (Dieu Linh's mother) shared: "The family knows clearly about her long-standing wishes and desires, so they agree and respect that. When they know that their daughter still wants to serve in the army for a long time, the whole family also hopes that after two years of military service, she will be more mature and fulfill this wish."

Eagerly awaiting the day of departure, Linh said that even though she had to "brave the sun and rain, not lose to the wind and storm" or the military discipline environment could be a bit harsh for a girl, she was mentally prepared to accept it.

Putting aside her dates with friends, Dieu Linh said she is still young so she should just act according to her desires and interests and "the military environment will help me grow and improve myself more and more".

The only girl joining the army in Cu Chi district this year is continuing the heroic tradition of her homeland.

That is also the eternal beauty of Vietnamese women carrying the blood of the indomitable Trung sisters and Trieu sisters, ready to devote their youth to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland with a spirit of vigilance and the highest mindset even though they are living in today's peaceful times.
