According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the first day of the week, August 19, the weather in many areas across the country had noticeable changes.
In the North, the weather in some places remains stormy due to the influence of the tropical convergence zone combined with the southwest monsoon.
Some provinces in the Northern Delta and midlands have moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain and thunderstorms. Temperatures range from 26 to 32 degrees Celsius, with high humidity.
However, in the afternoon and evening, the rain will lessen, the weather will become cooler, creating favorable conditions for outdoor activities.
Meanwhile, the area from Nghe An to Ninh Thuan continues to have hot weather, some places have severe heat with the highest temperature commonly from 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places over 37 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity commonly 50-65%.
Experts warn that the heat wave in the Central region is likely to last in the coming days; the risk of natural disasters due to heat wave is level 1.
In addition, people need to be on guard against intense heat combined with low humidity which can cause explosions and fires in residential areas due to increased electricity demand and the risk of forest fires.
Heat can also cause dehydration, exhaustion, and heat stroke in the human body when exposed to high temperatures for a long time.
At sea, the northern area of the Gulf of Tonkin and the northern sea area of the North East Sea continue to have showers and thunderstorms; during thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 7-8. Beware of wave heights sometimes increasing to over 2m.
All vessels operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by tornadoes, strong winds and large waves.
