On June 24, Mr. Le Chi Nguyen, Principal of Phan Ngoc Hien High School for the Gifted (Ca Mau City, Ca Mau), said that the school had announced the list of candidates admitted to specialized 10th grade classes for the 2024-2025 school year.
According to the announcement, the admission scores for specialized 10th grade classes at Phan Ngoc Hien High School for the Gifted are calculated by including the scores of 3 compulsory subjects: literature, math, foreign language (coefficient 1) and specialized subject (coefficient 2); no subject has a score of 2 points or lower.
The enrollment target for grade 10 in the 2024-2025 school year of Phan Ngoc Hien High School for the Gifted (Ca Mau) is 350 students.
In this exam, the candidate with the highest score belongs to the math class. That is Le Nguyen Hoang Nhat Dinh, a student at Nguyen Thai Binh Secondary School (Ca Mau City), with 45.90 points.
This year is the first year that Phan Ngoc Hien High School for the Gifted does not enroll in non-specialized classes. "This school year, 601 candidates registered for the 10th grade entrance exam at Phan Ngoc Hien High School for the Gifted. According to the initial plan of the Provincial People's Committee, the school will accept 350 candidates, but only 341 were admitted. There is a situation here where the history class is not enough, the exam scores are low and they are failing, so they accept 25 students, 10 less than the planned target; the information technology class has 2 students with the same score, so it is proposed to take both students' scores," Mr. Nguyen added.
