Inauguration of the Truong Sa sovereignty landmark project

On June 28, the 131st Naval Engineering Brigade held the inauguration ceremony of the Truong Sa sovereignty landmark project at the Brigade.

Authorized by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, comrade Duong Duc Huy, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department attended and presented 100 million VND from Lao Cai province to support the construction of the landmark.

Also attending the program were leaders of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, leaders, officers and soldiers of the 131st Naval Engineering Brigade.

The Truong Sa sovereignty marker built at Brigade 131 is a reinforced concrete structure, with the same dimensions as the sovereignty marker located on Truong Sa island (ratio 1:1), with a height of 5.9 m, a width of 1.35 m, placed on a granite pedestal measuring 10m x 10m, with steps up and down. On the Truong Sa sovereignty marker, there is full information about longitude and latitude, along with the words: SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM, firmly affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the sea and islands.

The project is located in a solemn position in the Traditional House area of the Brigade; it is a sacred symbol, expressing respect and gratitude to previous generations who sacrificed to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Head of the Propaganda Department of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee spoke.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, on behalf of the delegates of Lao Cai and Ninh Binh provinces, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department sent greetings and congratulations from the leaders of the two provinces on the occasion of the inauguration of the Truong Sa Sovereignty Marker, and expressed his agreement and appreciation for the ideas and determination of the leaders, officers and soldiers of the Brigade who built and inaugurated this very meaningful project.

On behalf of the leaders of Lao Cai province, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department presented funding to support the construction of the landmark to the leaders of the 131st Naval Engineering Brigade.

The Head of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department emphasized that, through the coordination program, in recent years, the propaganda and education on the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland for cadres, party members, and people of all walks of life in the two provinces of Lao Cai and Ninh Binh have had many innovations, diversified in content, vivid in form, practical, suitable to reality, and brought about high efficiency.

Also through the coordination program, many delegations of key leaders, officials, journalists, artists of the two provinces, along with departments, branches, provinces and cities across the country, have been organized to visit and present gifts to officials, soldiers and people on the islands of Truong Sa archipelago and DK1 platform.

The Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department hopes that the Truong Sa Sovereignty Marker will play its role as a meaningful historical, cultural and spiritual address in propagating and educating the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland; raising the sense of responsibility of cadres, soldiers and people to unite, be unanimous and determined to firmly protect the sea and islands as well as the sovereignty and territorial integrity, contributing to the stability and development of the country. He hopes that the coordination between agencies and units, including the Propaganda Department of Lao Cai and Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committees and the 131st Naval Engineering Brigade, will be increasingly strong and effective.
