12 large hot air balloons with a diameter of 25-28m, flying 300-500m high and 5-10km away in the sky, take visitors to explore the beauty of the ancient capital of Hue.
Contributing to promoting Hue tourism to domestic and foreign tourists from a new and unique perspective, the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue in collaboration with Hexa Media Joint Stock Company organized the International Hot Air Balloon Festival with the theme "Hue - The Beauty of the Ancient Capital". This is an outstanding annual activity in the series of events responding to the Hue Festival 2023 week. Accordingly, the International Hot Air Balloon Festival "Hue - The Beauty of the Ancient Capital" takes place from April 13 to 20 in the Hue Imperial City at Ham Nghi Stadium, Hue City; on May 5 and 6, entertainment activities and culinary festivals will take place in the area in front of the Thua Thien Hue Sports Center (No. 1 Ha Huy Tap). This is also an opportunity for tourists who love and explore new things to directly experience the feeling of sitting on a hot air balloon and admire the entire view of Hue - a World Cultural Heritage. The experience of free flying to watch the sunrise in the ancient capital is one of the highlights of the festival. The most famous landscapes of Hue such as Huong River, Ngu Mountain, Tam Giang Lagoon... will be enjoyed from a completely new perspective by tourists from a hot air balloon. Mr. Pham Do Hoan, representative of the Organizing Committee, said: "In recent years, hot air balloon tourism has become a popular form of tourism in Vietnam, not only satisfying tourists who love adventure but also bringing a new perspective on the country's scenic spots. This hot air balloon festival will not only bring visitors a calm, contemplative Hue but also experiences of a youthful, dynamic and modern Hue". In addition to hot air balloon tourism activities, visitors can also immerse themselves in an extremely attractive space of entertainment, recreation and cuisine. The culinary festival takes place from 10am to 10pm every day throughout the hot air balloon festival.
