At 2:30 p.m. on October 16 (local time), the Ho Chi Minh City booth was officially opened at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2024 (Germany) with nearly 450 book titles on display.
Attending the program were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications; Mr. Luu Xuan Dong, Consulate General of Vietnam in Frankfurt, Mr. Nguyen Nguyen, Director of the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution; Ms. Nguyen Thi My Linh, Deputy Director of the Department of Press and Publishing, Central Propaganda Department; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoi, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City and representatives of publishers and distribution units.
Following the success of the Frankfurt Book Fair 2023, this year, Ho Chi Minh City continues to participate in a booth with an area of 88m2 . Nearly 450 book titles are displayed and exhibited with many genres such as history, literature, travel, culture...
With the goal of continuing to promote the country's image through publications while contributing to strengthening foreign information work, cultural exchanges, exhibition activities, consolidating and expanding cooperative relations with localities and international organizations to serve the requirements of developing a reading culture.
Coming to Frankfurt Book Fair 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City booth chaired by the Department of Information and Communications includes units such as Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House, Tre Publishing House, Phuong Nam Cultural Joint Stock Company, Sbooks Joint Stock Company, WEWE-Voiz FM Technology Joint Stock Company.
Within the framework of the opening activities of the Ho Chi Minh City booth, representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City delegation continued to donate books to the Vietnamese community abroad through the Vietnamese Consulate in Frankfurt, with the desire to spread the love of Vietnamese language to the Vietnamese community abroad, and at the same time, be able to easily access, study, and research the culture and history of the country, contributing to promoting cultural activities to strengthen the connection between Ho Chi Minh City and the Vietnamese community abroad.
