Opening of the Lotus Village Festival 2023

On the evening of May 12, at Ho Chi Minh Square (Vinh City), Nghe An Provincial People's Committee held the opening ceremony of the Lotus Village Festival and the art program "Mother of Lotus Village" to celebrate the 155th birthday of Ms. Hoang Thi Loan and the 133rd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

Comrades: Phan Dinh Trac, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Party Central Committee member, Vice President attended the ceremony.

The art program “Mother of Sen Village” consists of 3 chapters: From the hammock of Sen Village; the noble lotus; the radiant Vietnam. The program is elaborately staged, combining various art forms, honoring the qualities and profound human values of Ms. Hoang Thi Loan and President Ho Chi Minh.

This year's Sen Village Festival takes place with many exciting and meaningful activities, concentrated in Vinh City, Nam Dan District and Cua Lo Town. Highlights include the Sen Village Singing Festival with the participation of more than 600 artists and actors from 21 mass art troupes from districts, cities and towns; performances of Vi and Giam folk songs and art performances to serve the people; a thematic exhibition on Uncle Ho; the contest "Uncle Ho in the hearts of Nghe An youth and children"; volleyball and traditional martial arts tournaments across the province; culinary contests to prepare dishes from lotus; folk games associated with Uncle Ho's childhood activities; Cua Lo Hot Air Balloon Festival 2023.

The Sen Village Festival is held annually at the provincial level and nationwide every five years on the occasion of Uncle Ho's birthday. This is an important political and cultural activity, expressing the people's gratitude and respect for President Ho Chi Minh - National Liberation Hero, World Cultural Celebrity; propagating and educating Ho Chi Minh's ideology; continuing to "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle"; introducing and promoting the culture of Sen Village, Nghe An homeland to friends and tourists at home and abroad.
