On the morning of February 13, in Ban Cau village, Luc Hon commune, Binh Lieu district, the opening ceremony of Luc Na communal house was held with many unique cultural, artistic and sports activities. Comrade Nghiem Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, attended the opening ceremony.
Luc Na Communal House was built during the Later Le Dynasty to worship the village's tutelary god Hoang Can, a heroic general who fought off northern invaders and protected his homeland and country. The communal house was ranked as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic by the Provincial People's Committee in 2005.
Luc Na Communal House Festival is held annually as an opportunity for Binh Lieu people to commemorate the merits of General Hoang Can and the mountain gods, river gods, and local gods, and at the same time becomes a spring cultural rendezvous with many traditional folk cultural activities of the ethnic communities in the district.
The Luc Na Communal House Festival in 2025 is organized according to traditional festival rituals, including the ceremony and the festival. The ceremony includes the royal decree procession, the god worship ceremony, and the traditional communal house closing ceremony.
The festival includes many special activities taking place at Luc Na communal house yard such as: Then singing - Tinh lute festival of Binh Lieu district; Then singing - Tinh lute exchange between Binh Lieu district and the Association for Preservation of Ethnic Folk Songs of Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces; Binh Lieu district's traditional martial arts tournament (February 12-13); nightingale and red-whiskered bulbul singing competition.
Along with that are traditional sports competitions (stick pushing, shuttlecock throwing, tug of war, crossbow shooting) and folk games (sack jumping, grave digging, stilt walking, etc.); Luc Na communal house cup football tournament (from February 8-14) at Luc Hon commune stadium.
Luc Na Communal House Festival is held annually to preserve the cultural heritage of the ethnic groups in Binh Lieu, serve the needs of cultural enjoyment, improve the spiritual and cultural life of the people, and contribute to building a healthy and progressive cultural environment. This is also an opportunity for Binh Lieu to continue to promote, introduce, and spread the image and beauty of the land and culture of the locality to tourists from all over the world, promoting the development of tourism and the socio-economy of the district.
The festival will run until February 14.
