(CLO) US President Joe Biden has hinted at "tacit approval and explicit support" for Israel to attack Iran, the Iranian mission to the United Nations said on Monday, citing Biden's remarks in Germany last week.
In a letter to the United Nations Security Council, Iran also said the US would “bear full responsibility for its role in inciting, instigating and facilitating” any Israeli attack against the Islamic Republic of Iran, “as well as for the catastrophic consequences for regional and international peace and security.”
Earlier, Mr. Biden, during a visit to Berlin, told reporters that he understood how and when Israel would respond to Iranian missile attacks.

The Iranian delegation's statement came as the US has just deployed its leading THAAD air defense system to Israel, a move that analysts have assessed as a preparation for Israel to attack Iran.
President Joe Biden said the THAAD deployment, along with about 100 US troops, was intended to help defend Israel, which is considering retaliation against Iran after Tehran fired more than 180 missiles at Israel on October 1.
Responding to questions from reporters, Mr. Biden said he had a clear understanding of when and how Israel would attack Iran. But he also said he saw an opportunity to end the back-and-forth attacks.
Meanwhile, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said: "It's hard to say exactly what an attack (by Israel) will be like. Ultimately, it's Israel's decision. Whether Israel sees that decision as proportionate and how Iran sees it are two different things."
