AI helps optimize energy, save electricity
Within the framework of the series of events of the annual Innovation Conference in Vietnam - Innovation Day 2025 with the theme "Growing sustainable production scale through digitalization and AI", held on the afternoon of April 10 in Hai Phong, experts said that artificial intelligence (AI) with the ability to process data quickly and accurately has been helping to optimize energy use in many fields, from industry, transportation to daily life.
In smart buildings, AI controls lighting, air conditioning, and electronic devices based on users' living habits. AI can automatically turn off lights and air conditioning when no one is in the room, or adjust the optimal temperature according to actual weather conditions. This not only improves comfort but also reduces energy waste.

In industry, AI is integrated into energy management systems to monitor and adjust electricity consumption in real time. Thanks to intelligent algorithms, AI can analyze the factory's electricity consumption data, thereby detecting areas of unusual energy consumption and suggesting saving solutions. Such systems not only help reduce operating costs but also reduce carbon emissions into the environment.
On a broader scale, in industrial zones, AI also contributes to the effective management of smart grids, helping to balance electricity supply and demand between regions and predict future consumption needs. Thanks to that, power plants can operate more efficiently, limiting overload or excess electricity.
Mr. Dong Mai Lam, General Director of Schneider Electric Vietnam and Cambodia, said that digitalization and AI are inevitable trends for industries to achieve the Net Zero goal by 2050.
“We believe that digitalization and artificial intelligence will be the key drivers for energy transition in the manufacturing industry by reducing energy consumption, optimizing the energy mix to reduce emissions, and breaking down barriers to renewable energy conversion, thereby promoting sustainable development,” Lam shared.

Increase business competitiveness with digitalization and AI
Also at the discussion sessions within the framework of Innovation Day 2025, experts pointed out that, as resources are increasingly depleted, AI applications not only bring economic benefits by saving electricity but also contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development.
Forrester's 2022 Data and Analytics Survey found that 73% of data and analytics decision-makers are building AI technology, and 74% are seeing positive impact in their businesses.
IDC research also shows that industrial companies that strategically pursue sustainability, combined with a long-term digital transformation program, significantly outperform their competitors.
Digital transformation, implemented through software applications powered by artificial intelligence (AI), is making huge strides in enhancing customer engagement, increasing productivity, improving sustainability and saving costs in asset-intensive industries such as manufacturing, power, water and logistics.
The Innovation Day 2025 conference offers in-depth discussion topics including: Promoting energy transformation and optimization for industry; EcoStruxure Power - smart power distribution for factories; EcoStruxure solutions for seaports; Solutions for smart industrial parks; Renewable energy landscape.
At the same time, the organizer Schneider Electric also displayed solutions including devices, connected software and new services for smart industries and sustainable infrastructure.
