The information says that this is a mechanical button, not a capacitive one. iPhone users will be able to zoom in and out by swiping the button left and right, focus with a light press, and activate recording with a harder press.
According to the latest leaked information, iPhone 16 will have an additional camera button
Apple plans to place the shutter button on the right side of the iPhone, below the power button and ideally positioned for easy finger access when the iPhone is held in landscape orientation. This is currently where the mmWave antenna is located, but the antenna will move to the left side of the device with the addition of the button.
According to The Information , Apple believes the new button will boost sales for the iPhone 16 line, and it is being introduced to help the iPhone replace the camera as well as make it easier for users to shoot horizontal video.
This information also coincides with the leak that Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman previously confirmed that it will have a new button used to record video on the iPhone 16.
According to Gizchina , the new shutter button will probably only be available on the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Previously, Apple launched a new Action button for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, replacing the mute button of previous iPhone lines.
