On the afternoon of October 9, Nhan Dan Newspaper held a press conference to announce a music program called Kenny G Live in Vietnam. This is an international music project for the community in Vietnam initiated by Nhan Dan Newspaper and IB Group Vietnam.
Good Morning Vietnam is expected to be held annually not only with the purpose of spreading the world's top music to Vietnam but also has profound humanitarian value because all ticket sales are used for charity purposes hosted by Nhan Dan newspaper.
Kenny G will play live all the most famous songs such as: "Going home", "Havana", "Romeo & Juliet", "My heart will go on"...
According to the organizers, the show will last more than 2 hours, following the format of Kenny G's performances on major stages around the world. Kenny G and his accompanying band will play live all the most famous songs of the past years such as: Going home, Havana, Romeo & Juliet, My heart will go on.
Mr. Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Head of the program's steering committee, said that inviting famous international artists to perform in Vietnam is not easy due to the tight performance schedule. Fortunately, Kenny G was able to match his schedule to come to Hanoi this time.
Journalist Le Quoc Minh - Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper shared about the program.
Also at the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Thuy Duong, Chairman of IB Group Vietnam, said that Kenny G had quite high requirements for equipment during the concert:
"A music night requires a special equipment system (speakers, mixing consoles, etc.), if the equipment is not the right type, it will produce a different sound quality. Kenny can use the sound provided by Vietnam, but requires a mixing console produced 10 years ago to produce the music quality he wants.
We had to go to Japan and Singapore to rent 2 mixing tables. The Organizing Committee has signed a contract to transfer those 2 mixing tables to Vietnam for 2 months now to ensure that the quality of Kenny G's performance in Vietnam is no different from the nights he performs on big stages around the world."
Kenny G is an American saxophonist. In 1994, Kenny G won a Grammy Award for Forever in Love and is the only artist in the world to be listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for playing the longest note on a saxophone for 45 minutes and 47 seconds. In 1997, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
