Sharing about the passing of a global fashion icon on Instagram , designer Giorgio Armani affirmed that he always had "great respect" for Roberto Cavalli, and said "Roberto was a true artist and great at using prints, capable of turning imagination into seductive clothing designs".

Roberto Cavalli's funeral will be held in Florence on April 15.
