When he learned that the Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 organizing committee was launching a crown design contest for the new beauty queen and runner-up, Thuyet felt very excited and wanted to try. Thuyet said that the crown and tiara (for the runner-up) were inspired by the image of bamboo, symbolizing the noble character and strong will of the Vietnamese people.

“During the design process, I had difficulty placing the details in a harmonious and delicate way. Bamboo is very sturdy and upright, so how to make it not look dry and stiff while still maintaining its original image was something I struggled with for many days. During the process of realizing the crown drawing, I received comments from the organizers and the manufacturing unit to optimize the application in reality, while also being consistent with the spirit of this year's competition,” Thuyet said.

The crown and tiara were designed by Thuyet in October 2023. This young man only spent 2 days to come up with ideas and sketch the crown model to compete in the contest. The crown "Tre'15 the crown" (Crown for Miss) and "Tre'15 the tiara" (tiara for runner-up) were developed by the diamond manufacturing unit Ngoc Chau Au, making real models from the design drawing called "The symphony of galactic flow" by Thuyet.

“The crown is a harmony between traditional and modern elements. The crown honors the core values of women such as: merit, beauty, speech, and virtue... and at the same time sets the expectation that the new beauty queen will create charitable projects that contribute to society. In addition, the crown and tiara will be used for the final night, which is also the 15th anniversary of the contest, meaning the opening of a new era of beauty,” Thuyet shared.

In addition to creating the crown, Thuyet also impressed with his unique fashion design projects. Typically, in his graduation project "Conceptual fashion reflects the hierarchy in modern society through the image of workers in the splendid Ho Chi Minh City", Thuyet had deep feelings and sympathized with them through his fashion designs.

“Although life has developed a lot, there are still many difficult circumstances and struggles to make a living. People say that Ho Chi Minh City is luxurious, flowers for the rich and dependent on the poor. I want to honor the image of a simple city with the beauty of the poor’s labor… through fashion,” Thuyet shared.

Thuyet said that winning the Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 crown design contest was a surprise and an honor. This is considered a recognition of Thuyet's efforts throughout his journey to pursue his fashion dream and a motivation for the young designer to develop further in the future.
Ms. Luong Thi Minh Hoa, lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, who guided Minh Thuyet's graduation project, shared: "When I saw Thuyet win the Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 crown design contest, I felt very happy and proud. I highly appreciate this crown design because of its aesthetics and deep meaning. The image of the bamboo tree conveyed in the crown design carries the meaning of modesty and honesty that beauty contests today require in women, in addition to the criteria of physical beauty and knowledge."
Master Minh Hoa added: “Minh Thuyet has a passion and good artistic instinct. That is why, in his creative work, his design products always have very aesthetic solutions and carry a unique personal color. Besides, his ability to be sensitive to the market means that Thuyet's design products always meet customer needs. Thuyet has a good sense, so his design products are very creative and at the same time highly applicable.”
