The People's Procuracy of Tho Xuan district has just coordinated with the People's Court of the district to organize 3 online trials of criminal cases, including 2 cases of "Disturbing public order" and 1 case of "Resisting people on duty".
The defendants brought to trial include: Ngo Duc Long and Nguyen Van Hoang, prosecuted for “Disturbing public order”; Trinh Thi Thoan and Vi Thi Thuy, prosecuted for “Resisting people on official duty”.
The online trial is held at the central bridge point, the Court's Trial Hall, connected to the component bridge point at the District Police Detention Center. The trials are held in accordance with the prescribed order and procedures.
At the bridge points, the online camera system is used to allow defendants to participate in the trial at the central bridge point and the component bridge points, ensuring full monitoring of images and sounds and participation in the proceedings and proceedings of the trial by word and action, continuously and publicly, ensuring the rights and obligations of the participants in the proceedings.
After the end of the trial, the District People's Procuracy and the District People's Court held a meeting to review experiences, clarify the achieved results as well as point out the remaining limitations to better implement in the following trials.
It is known that online trials will support in-person trials, help the Court improve the quality of trials, and promote digital transformation in trial activities of People's Courts at all levels. Online trials also help propaganda and dissemination of law achieve better results.
