Khanh Hoa mountainous district plans 3 sub-regions before there are no more district-level administrative units

Khanh Son mountainous district (Khanh Hoa) is planned into 3 development sub-regions and the district leader said that the arrangement of administrative units will not affect this planning.

On the morning of March 28, Khanh Son District People's Committee held a conference to announce the planning project of Khanh Son district until 2030, with a vision to 2050. According to the decision, the planning divides Khanh Son district into 3 sub-regions.

Sub-region 1 is a key area for tourism, urban and residential development, exploiting infrastructure values ​​and unique landscapes, combined with ensuring national defense and security, with a natural area of ​​13,103 hectares, being the administrative, political, economic, cultural, educational and commercial service center of the district associated with the development of mountain and forest eco-tourism.

Sub-region 2 is an agricultural - forestry landscape ecological area, interwoven with eco-cultural tourism services, associated with local climatic conditions, with a natural area of ​​8,191 hectares with the function of developing agricultural - forestry - industrial economy, interwoven with tourism - services; prioritizing community - cultural tourism models, eco-tourism, and experiential tourism.

Sub-region 3 is an agricultural - forestry area, encouraging the development of ecological - cultural tourism, with a natural area of ​​2,559 hectares, is an area for high-yield agricultural development and industrial crops, forming agricultural ecological zones, interwoven with tourism services.

Mr. Dinh Van Dung - Chairman of Khanh Son District People's Committee - said that the approval of Khanh Son District's regional planning aims to increase investment in synchronous development of economic and social infrastructure, improving people's lives.

"The planning also builds localities to develop urban systems according to the forest ecological sub-region model, forming urban areas with high density of trees, ecology, and friendliness to nature, reducing the rate of motorized traffic in urban areas; creating green belts, applying rooftop garden design, and green infrastructure" - Mr. Dung said.

Talking to Tuoi Tre Online about the upcoming arrangement of administrative units without the district level, how this planning will be implemented, the Chairman of Khanh Son District People's Committee said that this is a vertical planning from East to West according to sub-regions, so after the arrangement of administrative units, it will not affect the above planning.

Khanh Son district currently has a natural area of ​​about 33,853 hectares, including 7 communes and 1 town. The total population of the district is forecasted to be about 48,000 people by 2030; about 65,000 people by 2040; and about 90,000 people by 2050.
