Cooperation to promote cashless payments in Korea

On the afternoon of September 24, the National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS), Saigontourist Travel Services Company Limited and Tuoi Tre newspaper signed a cooperation agreement on the NAPAS card spending promotion support program in Korea.

With the aim of promoting cashless payments and supporting tourism development between Vietnam and Korea, the cooperation will help increase the use of NAPAS cards in spending activities in Korea, through the BC Card network - one of the major payment systems in this country.

The initial program is for customers who are NAPAS cardholders issued through BIDV/Agribank, paying at payment acceptance units belonging to the BC Card network in Korea.

Accordingly, through Saigontourist Travel, Vietnamese tourists coming to Korea can easily use NAPAS cards to pay for shopping, dining and entertainment services, creating convenience and savings.

As a companion to tourists throughout the trip, Saigontourist Travel's tour guide will introduce the program, points accepting domestic NAPAS card payments as well as the BC Card system in Korea.

The cooperation between the three units also aims to promote tourism between Vietnam and Korea, in which the cooperation between NAPAS and Saigontourist Travel aims to implement effective marketing activities, to promote cashless payments, and support tourism development between the two countries.

This cooperation not only benefits consumers but also strongly supports the national digital transformation process, especially in the field of cashless payments according to the Prime Minister's decision.

With the support of Tuoi Tre newspaper, information about the cooperation program and related events will be widely transmitted to the public through the newspaper's multimedia ecosystem. Thereby, helping to raise awareness about the benefits of cashless payments and encourage the use of NAPAS cards in the community.

The strategic cooperation between NAPAS, Saigontourist and Tuoi Tre newspaper is expected to bring breakthroughs in promoting cashless payments, developing international tourism and enhancing Vietnam's position on the global digital payment map.

In 2024, under the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tuoi Tre newspaper in collaboration with Saigon Tourist Corporation will organize the event "Vietnam Pho Festival 2024" Korea. The program will take place on October 5 and 6 in Seoul, Korea, including many different activities.

According to the organizers, through pho, the program introduces Vietnamese cultural values ​​to Korean people, promotes the country's image to promote diplomatic relations, economy, trade and tourism...

"Vietnam Pho Festival 2024" is also considered an opportunity and lever to promote autumn-winter and New Year tourism in Korea.

Vietnam Pho Festival 2024 in Seoul, Korea will take place on October 5 and 6, 2024 with the theme "Enjoy Pho, Discover Vietnam".

The program is co-organized by Tuoi Tre newspaper and Saigontourist Group, under the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

The program is supported by the Embassy of Vietnam in Seoul (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, the Association of Vietnamese People in Korea, and the Association of Vietnamese Enterprises in Korea.

After the first successful event in Tokyo, Japan, Vietnam Pho Festival 2024 chose Korea as the next destination on its journey to promote Vietnamese cuisine internationally.

The program will launch in July 2024 with a variety of rich and attractive content. The highlight of Vietnam Pho Festival 2024 will be the Vietnamese Pho Festival taking place over two days with a scale of about 70 booths, including more than 30 pho booths and cuisine from many famous and long-standing pho brands from Vietnam.

The festival also dedicates space to introduce pho as well as its characteristics, a series of exchange activities between Vietnamese and Korean cuisine...

Within the framework of the festival, there is also a business matching activity, creating opportunities for Vietnamese businesses operating in the food, foodstuff, and culinary sectors to participate in direct trade connections with Korean import-export businesses.

Vietnam Pho Festival 2024 also receives support from the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO, the Department of Northeast Asia - Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Association, the Korea - Southeast Asia Economic Cooperation Association (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea), the Korean Cuisine Association, and the Association of Vietnamese Alumni in Korea.
