(CLO) On the evening of March 24, at the headquarters of the National News Center, a delegation of the People's Daily led by Comrade Tran Kien Van, alternate member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Editor-in-Chief of the People's Daily, visited and worked at the Vietnam News Agency (VNA).

At the reception, General Director of Vietnam News Agency Vu Viet Trang stated: The delegation's visit took place at a time when there were many commemorative activities, as well as contacts and exchanges at all levels between the two countries on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year. These activities help realize the common perception of the two countries' senior leaders to bring the Vietnam-China relationship increasingly deeper, more substantial and effective, contributing to promoting the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, building a Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.

General Director Vu Viet Trang said that the press is currently facing both opportunities and challenges due to the strong development of digital technology and artificial intelligence. This is an opportunity because VNA has invested in human resources and technical infrastructure to adapt to modern journalism methods. Persistently digitizing information and documents has also helped VNA form a rich, multi-format digital database. This is the foundation for VNA to develop multimedia journalism products and exploit the added value of data journalism. VNA's information pages have so far integrated all types of journalism.

"However, VNA is also facing huge challenges. The Vietnamese press system is in the process of restructuring, reorganizing the apparatus, streamlining personnel... Therefore, consulting and learning the operating models of international partner press agencies is very important. VNA has also actively exchanged multimedia information with partners as well as promoted initiatives to promote the role of official press agencies, the role of national news agencies in the current vibrant press environment; at the same time, focusing on developing bilateral cooperation with partners to become more and more substantive and effective," General Director Vu Viet Trang shared.

Editor-in-Chief of the People's Daily, Tran Kien Van, thanked VNA for the warm welcome to the delegation and said that the two agencies have many similarities. The People's Daily and VNA are currently making efforts to apply information technology to welcome the new era, expand the scope of readers and the way of transmitting information.

The People's Daily currently has 34 publications, with a total circulation of more than 6.6 million copies per day. There is no other way to reach a wide audience than through the internet. New media and social platforms will bring printed newspaper content to the internet. The People's Daily has been and is working to connect printed newspapers and new media. Exchanges and cooperation with partners such as VNA will provide more experience for the People's Daily...

On this occasion, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Daily Tran Kien Van invited VNA Director General Vu Viet Trang, as well as VNA delegates to visit Nhan Dan Daily headquarters and important events organized by the newspaper as soon as possible.
