The Ministry of Education and Training has just announced statistics on university admissions for the first period of 2023 and compared them with 2022. Specifically as follows:
The Ministry of Education and Training announced statistics on university admissions for the first round of 2023.
This year, the number of candidates taking the high school graduation exam is 1,002,100, of which 660,258 candidates registered for university admission, accounting for 65.9%.
The number of candidates admitted in the first round was 612,283, accounting for 61.1% of the candidates taking the high school graduation exam and 92.7% of the number of candidates registering for admission.
The number of candidates confirming admission in the first round on the system is 494,488, accounting for 49.3% of the number of candidates taking the high school graduation exam and 80.8% of the number of candidates admitted in the first round on the system. This year, the number of candidates confirming admission compared to the number of candidates admitted is less than in 2022. Last year, this rate was 81.6%.
Confirmation of admission is a mandatory requirement for all candidates who wish to study at the school they wish to be admitted to.
Each university has its own admission plan and will send notifications to candidates via email, phone number or admission notice. Therefore, after confirming admission on the system, students need to regularly check their email for admission account information, admission procedures and follow the instructions of the schools.
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates who do not confirm their admission within the prescribed time, without a valid reason, will be considered to have refused the opportunity to study. Candidates who do not pass the first round of admission can participate in additional admission rounds if they meet the requirements, according to the announcement on the admissions pages of the training institutions.
After September 9, training institutions can announce additional enrollment. Candidates who have not been admitted in the first round should follow information from the schools to promptly register for admission within the prescribed time. The time for organizing the additional enrollment rounds is from October to December 2023.
When admitted and completing the admission procedures, candidates will need to prepare the following basic documents: Admission notice (original); Student CV (admission profile); Temporary high school graduation certificate (or equivalent) for candidates graduating in 2023; High school graduation certificate (original and notarized copy) for candidates graduating before 2023; High school transcript (notarized copy and original for comparison); Identity card or citizen identification card (notarized copy), union membership book; Copy of birth certificate; Health examination form; Profile, preferential certificate, 3x4 photo.
