Initially, authorities determined that the fire damaged more than 2,000 square meters of Khe Tre market, including more than 1,200 square meters in the main hall and more than 960 square meters in the secondary hall, damaging more than 335 business stalls. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

As Thanh Nien reported, at around 3:40 a.m. the same day (December 3), people discovered a fire breaking out inside Khe Tre market (Nam Dong district), surrounding the stalls inside the market.
The fire broke out at dawn, leaving people unable to react.
Fire engulfs Khe Tre market
At this time, many small traders present could only stand outside helplessly screaming and crying loudly, watching their goods being burned by the fire. Some others rushed into the scene to save their goods but were unsuccessful.
Upon receiving the news, nearly 200 officers and soldiers from the Fire Prevention and Fighting Force, Nam Dong District Police... and 9 specialized vehicles were present at the scene, working with local people to put out the fire and assist traders in evacuating their goods. However, the fire spread, surrounding the entire market, making it difficult to access the scene.
