On May 15, the Ministry of Information and Communications announced that after 2 months of implementing subscriber information standardization, the results showed that more than 2.85 million subscribers out of a total of 3.84 million subscribers required by network operators to standardize information to match the National Population Database (accounting for 74.21%) have been standardized.
However, there are still more than 985,000 subscribers (25.79%) who have not yet standardized as announced, have had their contracts terminated, telecommunications services terminated, and their subscriber numbers revoked.
Mr. Nguyen Phong Nha, Deputy Director of the Department of Telecommunications (Ministry of Information and Communications), said: "With these revoked numbers, network operators will collect them into their number warehouses and provide them to other individuals and organizations in need according to regulations."
According to the Ministry of Information and Communications, the above results are due to users' awareness that using a phone number with full and accurate information registered with their own information is very important, when the phone has become an indispensable means in daily life. Especially the participation and synchronous implementation of businesses in deploying notification measures (texting, calling, sending employees to meet directly according to each subscriber group); standardization (directly, online).
In addition, with the support and consensus of press and media agencies, from March 15 to May 15, news and articles regularly posted to guide users in standardization work.
From now until June, along with continuing to direct and urge businesses to continue to cross-check with the National Population Database and standardize subscriber information, the Ministry of Information and Communications will focus on large-scale inspections of subscriber information management of mobile telecommunications businesses, strictly handling violations, especially with subscribers who are using and owning more than 10 SIMs/documents.
