Most audiences know Trinh Minh Hien as a violinist. However, she is also a "very cool musician" (according to singer Ha Linh).

Before the song collection Vol.1 Hanoi Hanoi , last year Trinh Minh Hien released the album Phuong Linh, which, in addition to the songs she arranged for the violin, also included her own compositions.

But it was not until Hanoi, Hanoi , that the artist presented himself as a complete author.

"Wait too long!"

That is the exclamation of musician Giang Son when talking about Trinh Minh Hien.

Giang Son said that around the early 2000s, while sitting in a coffee shop with musician Nguyen Cuong, he told him "this girl writes very well".

At that time, several musicians in the industry were gossiping about Hien and she herself also hoped that Trinh Minh Hien would soon become a young female author.

The song Call Me Hanoi (Trinh Minh Hien) sung by Ngoc Khue won the award for Best Song About Hanoi of the Year in the program Vietnamese Songs 2008.

But acting career took Trinh Minh Hien away, she became a violinist who played everywhere.

It took Trinh Minh Hien 20 years to successfully "conceive" an author album. "It really took too long," said Giang Son.

Journalist Hong Ha (Vietnam Television) - one of the people who was closely involved with the program Vietnamese Songs in the early years - shared that 20 years ago, Trinh Minh Hien was one of the rare female authors participating in Vietnamese Songs.

Participating in the playground at that time were Giang Son, Nguyen Vinh Tien...

At that time, Trinh Minh Hien made a strong impression with the songs she composed such as Call Me Hanoi, Red Sail and You ...

"Just that much shows Trinh Minh Hien's qualities, that of an artist who is both tormented and passionate, feminine and very gentle," journalist Hong Ha recalled.

"I'm very happy that Trinh Minh Hien has found inspiration to compose again and has released this album," she said.

Album dedicated to Hanoi living and loving

Inspired by the land where the artist was born and raised, the album Hanoi Hanoi includes 10 songs: Hanoi Hanoi, Oh the power outage, Hey daisy field, Mother lulls the leaf train, Lotus, Wet spot, Hanoi night tilts storm, When we weave fingers, White fly, Call me Hanoi . Among these, there are old songs and also very new compositions by Trinh Minh Hien.

In which, the artist chose Hanoi Hanoi as the theme song of the album.

She shared that this is a song that clearly expresses that nostalgic feeling, with a long intro of the violin in a rare 3-beat format, so that the singer's voice is like the voice of each of our hearts, every time we remember...

The album opens with Trinh Minh Hien's dedication: "A little girl holding a bright violin in the International Photo Studio next to Hoan Kiem Lake, that's me in the winter of 1987.

Hanoi drifted through my childhood, through many seasons I lived and loved, with each particle of emotional "air".

That witness has been with me since a long time, so that Hanoi in the songs I write often evokes many memories, lingering as if I had to leave, then rushing back.

Maturity is when we encounter the last layer of emotions, of nostalgia called Hanoi, Hanoi".

Listening to the album, the audience will see again a Hanoi with ups and downs over the years, with many familiar images such as the sound of the radio, "grandmother holding her grandchild", "bamboo fan", "bowl of crab soup", or fields of chrysanthemums...

The song collection features the voices of singers Thanh Lam, Tung Duong, Ngoc Khue and Ha Linh. Guest singer Ha Tran will sing with Thanh Lam the song Mother Lulls the Leaves .

Trinh Minh Hien was born in 1980 in Hanoi.

In 2003, she graduated as valedictorian of the university, string department of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, then worked at the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra and then the Sun Symphony Orchestra.
