On the morning of August 15, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held an online conference to disseminate new documents to accelerate the recovery and development of Vietnam's tourism effectively and sustainably.

Attending the conference at Ninh Binh bridge were leaders of the Department of Tourism, Tourism Association, and representatives of tourism service businesses in the province.

In 2023, Vietnam's tourism industry continues to recover and develop strongly. In the first 7 months of 2023, the total number of international visitors to Vietnam reached nearly 6.6 million, domestic visitors reached 76.5 million. Revenue is estimated at 416,600 billion VND.

In order for Vietnam's tourism to develop rapidly and sustainably, striving to become the country's spearhead economic sector, in the coming time, the tourism industry needs to have more specific strategies and goals to recover and develop strongly in the coming time.

At the conference, representatives of the General Department of Tourism presented a number of new documents and policies such as: Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP dated May 18, 2023 of the Government on key tasks and solutions to accelerate recovery and accelerate effective and sustainable tourism development; Vietnam tourism marketing strategy to 2030; Project on a number of models for developing night tourism products.

The general viewpoint of the documents and policies is to develop tourism in a sustainable and effective direction, focusing on developing both international and domestic tourist markets. At the same time, focus on promoting activities in line with target markets; take technology as a "shortcut" solution to promote tourism development faster and more effectively; strengthen public-private cooperation, creating conditions for businesses to develop.

Expressing agreement on the orientations and strategies for tourism development in the coming time, localities said that disseminating documents will help localities develop specific plans and action programs.

In addition, some delegates emphasized: Focusing on exploiting and developing the night economy is an important goal to increase the length of stay and spending of tourists, stimulating Vietnam's economic development. However, to achieve this goal, there needs to be active participation from the Central to local levels, all levels and sectors in formulating policies, planning, connecting and innovating products...

In Ninh Binh, in recent times, the province has regularly paid attention to and supported the effective development of the tourism industry. Most recently, on July 12, 2023, the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 105/2023/NQ-HDND on promulgating a number of policies to support tourism development in the province for the period 2023-2030. This is the first policy to fully support tourism development in the province, making Ninh Binh one of the few provinces that have issued this policy early.

Regarding the development of night tourism, Ninh Binh has soon had a strategy and put into operation effective products. In which, Hoa Lu ancient town is a night destination loved by many domestic and international tourists. Thereby contributing to diversifying tourism products, increasing the length of stay of tourists and tourism revenue.

In the coming time, Ninh Binh Tourism industry will continue to closely follow documents and policies, improve service quality, research and introduce new tourism products and promote promotional activities on digital platforms.

In addition, in order for Ninh Binh tourism in particular and the country's tourism in general to continue to develop rapidly, sustainably and effectively, it is necessary to further promote inter-provincial and inter-regional connectivity; relevant ministries and branches should study policies to adjust electricity prices; digital transformation needs to be more consistent and effective, etc.

With 11 comments from localities, these are important suggestions for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to continue to advise, research and edit to suit the development context, helping Vietnam tourism continue to recover, more effectively and sustainably.
