2023 Year End Conference

On the morning of December 12, the Provincial Military Party Committee held a year-end conference to review and evaluate the results of the implementation of the Resolution on leadership in performing local military and defense tasks in 2023; and deploy directions and tasks for 2024.

Attending the conference were Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of the Military Region, comrade Duong Van An, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee chairing the conference, along with heads of agencies of the Military Region, Secretaries of districts, towns and cities.

In 2023, the Provincial Party Committee and Military Command have performed well the advisory function for the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee to lead, direct, and organize the implementation of comprehensively completing local military and defense tasks, notably: coordinating to maintain political security, social order and safety, ensuring absolute safety for political and social events, holidays, New Year, and a series of events in the National Tourism Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence" activities in the province; completing the selection and calling of citizens to join the army, reaching 100% of the target, assigning troops to 9 focal units with a number of 1,301/1,301 citizens; advising and directing the successful organization of defense area drills in Ham Thuan Bac, Bac Binh, and Ham Tan districts, commune-level defense combat drills, and combined drills of affiliated units, achieving the set goals and requirements, ensuring absolute safety. Constructed 19/16 "Military-Civilian Friendship" houses, with a total cost of 1.49 billion VND, coordinated with Military Region 7 to complete the construction of 2/2 cultural and sports activities for parishioners of Mui Ne Protestant Association, Phan Thiet City and Cham ethnic people in Phan Thanh Commune, Bac Binh District. Built the militia force in accordance with the law, party members in the militia reached 30.26/29% of the target... Party building work had many positive changes, the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party Committee were enhanced, the Provincial Military Party Committee excellently completed the assigned tasks.

Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang acknowledged and commended the results of the Provincial Military Party Committee in leading, directing and organizing the implementation of local military and defense tasks in 2023. The Commander of the Military Region also pointed out a number of shortcomings and limitations, and emphasized the key tasks for the Provincial Military Party Committee to focus on leading, directing, and organizing the implementation to successfully complete local military and defense tasks in 2024: Continue to thoroughly grasp the directives and resolutions of all levels; strengthen combat readiness, coordinate with forces, grasp the local situation, maintain political stability, social order and safety, especially hot spots, key areas, seas and islands; promote training for forces, especially specialized training, swimming training close to mission requirements; focus on promoting competitions and sports; Strengthen defense diplomacy, sign a twinning agreement with Kampong Chhnang Military Sub-region, Special Military Region, Royal Cambodian Army; successfully complete the selection and call-up of citizens for military service in 2024.
