On the afternoon of November 25, Associate Professor Dr. Duong Nghia Bang - Deputy Chief of Office of the State Council of Professors said that since announcing the list of qualified candidates for Professor and Associate Professor, the Council has not received any complaints from experts or units related to academic integrity.
According to regulations, during the review process, if there are complaints or complaints, the State Council of Professors will forward them to the industry and interdisciplinary professor councils for appraisal, verification and clarification of information.
Depending on the content of the reflection, candidates may or may not have to explain. At the same time, candidates can choose to explain in writing or directly answer questions from members of the industry's professor council at the overview report session.

Based on the candidate's explanation and the results of processing and verification by relevant parties (if any), the Industry's Council of Professors will organize a public and transparent discussion and present the results to report to the State Council of Professors in writing according to regulations.
The Deputy Chief of Office said that in case after the candidates are recognized, if there are any complaints or reflections related to academic integrity, the State Council of Professors will meet again to discuss in case there is a decision or assessment result from the functional units. The Council does not have the function of resolving all complaints and petitions after the candidates have been recognized and voted on.
Previously, some press agencies and social networking forums were abuzz with reports that many new professors and associate professors violated academic integrity, using their names in international publications... in which public opinion mentioned a number of new professors and associate professors in the fields of Medicine and Economics.
On November 20, the State Council of Professors announced the results of recognition of meeting the standards for the title of Professor and Associate Professor in 2023 for 630 teachers, including 58 Professors and 572 Associate Professors.
According to the list, the Economics sector accounts for the overwhelming number of candidates recognized as meeting the standards for the title of Professor and Associate Professor with 92 people, including 6 new Professors and 86 Associate Professors.
The three youngest new Associate Professors in 2023 were all born in 1990 and are in the same field of Economics, including: Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Nham (majoring in Finance - Banking), Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics; Dr. Phan Thi Thu Hien (majoring in Accounting - Auditing), Foreign Trade University (Hanoi); Dr. Le Thanh Ha (majoring in Economics), National Economics University (Hanoi).
The three youngest new professors were all born in 1984, including Mr. Nguyen Dai Hai (Institute of Chemical Technology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology), Mr. Doan Thai Son (Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology), and Mr. Tran Xuan Bach (Hanoi Medical University).
This year, there are 3 fields and interdisciplinary fields that do not have candidates recognized as meeting the standards for the title of professor: Linguistics, History - Archeology - Ethnology and Literature.
