What do students have to take in the PSA primary school assessment?

(Dan Tri) - The Primary School Comprehensive Assessment (PSA) organized by the University of Foreign Languages, starting in 2025, will be conducted on computers.


What is the PSA test?

According to the announcement on the official website of the University of Foreign Languages, PSA is a test to assess groups of knowledge, abilities, and skills that students have accumulated in the 2018 primary school general education program. The test is conducted on a computer.

The PSA test results are used as the starting point for admission to grade 6 at Foreign Language Secondary School or other secondary schools in need.

All 5th grade students nationwide can register for this exam, without any restrictions.

The PSA consists of three parts: English, Science and Mathematics, Social Sciences, and Vietnamese. All parts are objective multiple-choice. Each question is scored differently, depending on its difficulty.

The highest weighted section is English, worth 50/100 points with 30 questions. The remaining two sections each have 25/100 points with 15 questions.

Candidates will receive their scores immediately after completing the test. The total time to complete the PSA test is only 70 minutes.

The validity period of PSA test results is 12 months from the date the student participates in the assessment or as specified by the units using the test results.

PSA Exam Schedule 2025

This year, the University of Foreign Languages ​​organized 2 PSA exams at lecture hall B3, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The first session took place on April 18, 19, and 20, with registration from March 26 to April 3. However, all the exam slots were full by the evening of March 26.

The second round takes place on 3 days 23, 24, 25/5, registration period 5-11/5.

Each exam session has 4 shifts at the following times: 7-9am, 9:30-11:30am, 1-3pm, 3:30-5:30pm.

Students can register for multiple exam sessions but maximum 1 exam session/session. The participation fee for each session is 420,000 VND.
