Support each other to develop

For Ms. Nguyen Thi Vut (Tra Tap commune), developing the Ngoc Linh ginseng model in the commune is a process of learning and hard work to escape poverty sustainably, becoming a well-off household in the mountains and forests of her homeland. According to Ms. Vut, before 2016, the economy depended mainly on rice cultivation and small-scale livestock farming, so her family, like many other households, was constantly poor.

Ms. Vut said that since 2016, when she heard the propaganda of the Women's Union of the commune about the effectiveness of crop conversion in the locality, she boldly borrowed 50 million VND from the bank to invest in growing Ngoc Linh ginseng according to the state's policy.

At first, due to lack of experience, the ginseng roots rotted. After receiving technical guidance from experts, the family's ginseng cultivation became more and more stable and expanded in scale.

“Following the call of the commune, I have continuously promoted and helped surrounding households to grow Ngoc Linh ginseng, improving their economic life. Up to now, many households have escaped poverty sustainably,” Ms. Vut shared.

After 3 years of implementing Conclusion No. 01, in Nam Tra My district, 1 individual was commended by the Secretariat in the program "Ho Chi Minh - Journey of Aspiration"; 3 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, 3 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee and 14 individuals and 8 collectives were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the District People's Committee.

Currently, Mrs. Vut’s family has more than 1,000 large and small ginseng trees, the largest of which is 12 years old. When she had a stable income and became a well-off household, Mrs. Vut returned to help other poor households gradually improve their lives.

The Ngoc Linh ginseng garden of Mrs. Vut’s family was chosen by the People’s Committee of Tra Tap commune as the unit providing seeds for households registering to escape poverty. Mrs. Vut also became the person who communicated and showed people how to grow ginseng on Tra Tap land.

For Tra Leng Primary Boarding School, maintaining the number of students plays an important role in contributing to improving the school's educational quality.

According to Mr. Bui Quang Ngoc - Principal of the school, the school is located in a commune with extremely difficult economic conditions, most of the students' parents are poor workers. Previously, the school had 9 separate schools, some of which took a whole day to travel to and from, not to mention when it rained and was windy, so many students skipped school.

Based on the above reality, the school recommends organizing boarding schools for students to ensure teaching and learning. Therefore, currently, in addition to teaching, teachers also have to take care of every meal and sleep for students. Caring for and looking after students with heart and responsibility contributes to improving the quality of education and reducing the number of students dropping out of school.

Movement into life

After 3 years of implementing Conclusion No. 01 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05 on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, Nam Tra My district has implemented it in a direction that is associated with the working position and tasks of each cadre, civil servant and public employee in accordance with practical life.

Mr. Nguyen Van Can - Head of the Propaganda Department of Nam Tra My District Party Committee said: "Studying and following Uncle Ho and setting an example for cadres, civil servants, party members and people in the district, especially leaders, has become a personal and regular need.

The movement has entered life, becoming a driving force and strength for cadres, civil servants, party members and people of all walks of life in the district to promote their internal strength, overcome difficulties and challenges, and contribute to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term and the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. Learning and following are concretized in each part of the work of each individual and collective, saying goes hand in hand with doing, not just talking.

The Standing Committee of Nam Tra My District Party Committee has brought up many prominent and urgent issues of the locality to focus on discussing and resolving and concretizing them into emulation movements, contents of studying and following Uncle Ho's example.

It could be sustainable poverty reduction in particularly difficult mountainous areas with effective methods, close to the people; or building new rural areas; socio-economic development among the people associated with models of growing medicinal plants, Ngoc Linh ginseng, Tra My cinnamon.

The work of learning and following Uncle Ho's example is also specified in the work of arranging residential areas, mobilizing people to donate land for rural roads, and building industrial clusters to create jobs for local people.

Or emulation movements in the daily work of cadres and party members such as bringing electricity to remote residential areas; building houses for poor and near-poor households, people in disaster areas; speeding up the disbursement of public investment capital, implementing national target programs in the area...

Each individual and collective has their own way of doing things, but the ultimate goal is nothing other than to develop Nam Tra My, and help people overcome poverty and become rich right here on this land.
