Focus on poverty reduction
In 2024, Tra Tap commune (Nam Tra My) will develop more than 2 hectares of Ngoc Linh ginseng, 10.5 hectares of Tra My cinnamon and large trees, and 8 hectares of other medicinal plants. Mr. Ho Van Nip - Chairman of Tra Tap Commune People's Committee said that this achievement comes from the locality's effective implementation of the province's policies for mountainous areas and ethnic minority areas.
“With a livelihood, people proactively strive to escape poverty. In 2024, the locality reduced the number of poor households by 12%, currently at 41%. To continue reducing it by another 10% in 2025, we will grasp the needs and mobilize people to effectively implement mechanisms and policies to develop Ngoc Linh ginseng, medicinal herbs and Tra My cinnamon,” said Mr. Nip.
Mr. Tran Duy Dung - Chairman of Nam Tra My District People's Committee said that 2025 is the last year of the term, so the district is reviewing the targets of the Resolution of the District Party Congress for the term 2020 - 2025.
For economic development, Nam Tra My continues to develop the main crop of Ngoc Linh ginseng and other crops and medicinal plants. In 2024, Nam Tra My will grow Ngoc Linh ginseng on 51 hectares and other medicinal plants on 50 hectares. In 2025, the district aims to develop an additional 50 hectares of Ngoc Linh ginseng and 30 hectares of other medicinal plants.
"Only growing medicinal plants can create large raw material areas for deep processing, thereby increasing income and sustainably reducing poverty for people," said Mr. Dung.
In addition to solutions to support livelihoods and encourage people to escape poverty, Nam Tra My will focus on infrastructure breakthroughs. Mr. Dung said that by 2025, Nam Tra My will strive to complete unfinished district roads to gradually complete key traffic routes in the district. Increase the rate of electricity for lighting in rural areas from 80% to 95%.
At the same time, it is recommended that the Central and the province pay attention to supporting telecommunications infrastructure to serve administrative reform, digital transformation and serve the lives and production of people and businesses. This is the basis for Nam Tra My to reduce the poverty rate by 5% or more, equivalent to more than 350 households.
Poverty reduction is also one of the key tasks set by Bac Tra My, with the goal of "escaping poverty in 2025".
Mr. Thai Hoang Vu - Chairman of Bac Tra My District People's Committee shared the local solution: For projects, sub-projects, and infrastructure works under construction under national target programs, the district has urged and reminded the construction units to return to work immediately after Tet. Investors are agencies and units of the district closely following and promptly supporting the construction units to carry out the works according to the handover schedule.
With the tasks of sustainable poverty reduction, socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, and building economic models among the people, Bac Tra My district has implemented them throughout the 2021 - 2025 period.
Up to now, effective models and methods have been basically formed, which will be widely replicated among the people to sustainably reduce poverty. Resources will be integrated by the district, giving maximum priority to poor households who know how to do business, creating the best motivation for them to effectively overcome the poverty line.
Improve people's lives
Mr. Tram Que Huong - Chairman of Tien Phuoc District People's Committee said that right after the Lunar New Year, the District People's Committee requested agencies, units and localities in the whole district to focus on implementing the tasks of 2025. This is the year Tien Phuoc focuses on many important tasks, so it must work right after the holiday and cannot be neglected.
In the immediate future, we will implement solutions to achieve the socio-economic development targets that have been set. Because this is a year with many important events, organizing many activities among the people requires a consistent positive working spirit and attitude from the entire political system.
The district has thoroughly instructed all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers to strictly implement administrative discipline, labor discipline, and urgently focus on stabilizing work, study and production right after the Tet holiday.
In Que Son district, as soon as the apparatus was stabilized after the administrative unit arrangement, the Western localities focused on supporting people in converting records and procedures.
Mr. Tran Van Doan - Chairman of Trung Phuoc Town People's Committee said that more than a week before Tet, the locality supported 2/3 of the population to change their citizen identification cards and some related documents.
Regarding land records, the district set up a one-stop office in Trung Phuoc town to support people in completing necessary procedures, determined not to let their lives be affected too much after implementing the merger policy.
Witnessing the urgent working spirit of the team and leaders at all levels after the administrative unit arrangement, Mr. Bui Van Sinh in Phuoc Ninh commune (Que Son) said that supporting documents and papers helps people carry out transactions and procedures conveniently.
Fortunately, before the Lunar New Year, district officials actively surveyed traffic routes in the Western communes to invest and expand in 2025. This is an important condition for remote areas of Que Son to develop and improve people's lives.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Chairman of Que Son District People's Committee said that since January 1, 2025, the district's apparatus has stabilized and come into operation with a very positive and proactive spirit of the staff and civil servants.
Que Son is focusing on reviewing the socio-economic development targets and tasks to suit the actual situation of the new district unit. Thereby, focusing on leading and directing the successful implementation of the set goals.
In 2025, Que Son strives to build the towns of Huong An, Dong Phu, and Trung Phuoc to meet civilized urban standards; recognize Que Xuan 1, Que Xuan 2, Que Hiep, and Que Loc as communes meeting advanced new rural standards, etc. Thereby, striving to achieve all 9 criteria of new rural districts.
“With a strong determination to reach the new rural district goal by the end of 2025, we have focused on strengthening the steering committees and new rural coordination offices to gradually perfect the criteria, aiming to improve the quality of people's lives,” Mr. Hoa shared.
