On May 13, Ngoc Chau's representative confirmed that she had stopped studying at Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City.
The beauty queen's side said that after working with the school in February, they received notice that Ngoc Chau was not eligible to return to complete her studies as desired, due to the time limit for retaining her academic results.

Ngoc Chau said that although she was a bit sad, she accepted the reality. The beauty believes that studying will be associated with her whole life, so she will find other opportunities and try harder in the future.
"I will not give up and will try to start enrolling again in a certain field so that I can fulfill my mother's wish as well as my own," the beauty queen said.
Previously, in the program Dream of Vietnam, Ngoc Chau admitted to her mother - Mrs. Dang Thi Gai about not being able to get a bachelor's degree.
Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 told her mother: "I used to tell you that I had almost finished my studies, and that I would graduate with a thesis and project. However, I still had 1-2 projects to complete, so I couldn't get my degree. Because my training period had expired, the school did not allow me to return to continue studying. Now I can't get my degree anymore."
At this time, Ngoc Chau's mother reacted with surprise and worry. Although sad, she still encouraged Ngoc Chau: "The most tiring and difficult time was when the family ran out of money and the children were still young. At that time, I had to go to the bank to borrow money and work to raise the children. I just hope you have a stable job. You just keep trying, whatever happened has happened."

In February, the news that she had not graduated from university caused a stir. Ngoc Chau denied that she had lied about her degree as rumored, affirming that she had never informed the media or the audience that she had graduated from Ton Duc Thang University.
On the side of Miss Universe Vietnam, Mr. Tran Viet Bao Hoang - representative of the contest's organizing committee, affirmed that the reigning beauty queen did not lie in providing information when participating in the contest.
"At the Miss Universe Vietnam contest and the information sent to the Miss Universe organization, Ngoc Chau's introduction also stated that her main job was a model, that she studied Biotechnology and is currently working in the arts. There is absolutely no falsification in her academic records," said Mr. Hoang.
Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau was born in 1993, from Tay Ninh. In 2018, she competed in the Miss Supranational Vietnam contest and won the title, then competed in Miss Supranational 2019, entered the Top 10 finalists and won the title of Miss Supranational Asia.
In May 2022, she was crowned Miss Universe Vietnam, winning the right to compete in the 71st Miss Universe in the US in early 2023 but did not make it to the top.
