Phu Tho A hole about 4 meters deep and 4 meters in diameter appeared, causing the flat-roofed house and stilt house of a resident in Yen Lap district to tilt and crack.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung in Ngoc Lap commune, Yen Lap district, said that last night while he was sleeping, he heard many small explosions but thought it was windy and rainy so he did not check. This morning, the house wall had many cracks 30-40 cm long and a deep hole appeared in front of the house. At first, the hole was full of water, then it dried up.
His family's 5,000 square meter plot of land also had long cracks, causing the stilt house next to the flat-roofed house to tilt.

Mr. Dinh Xuan Hon, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ngoc Lap Commune, said that before the deep hole appeared, the commune had rained but not heavily. There were no construction works nearby and no similar incident had ever happened.
The government has helped Mr. Hung’s family evacuate their belongings, dismantle the stilt house, and mark off the danger zone. Currently, the four members of his family are staying at his brother’s house.
The cause of the "death hole" is being clarified.
