Support capital to create jobs for over 5,600 workers

BTO - On the afternoon of May 24, the Provincial Veterans Association held a conference to review the association's work in the first 6 months of the year; deploy directions and tasks for the last 6 months of 2024.

In the first 6 months of 2024, the Association at all levels has proactively and actively implemented the key tasks assigned by the Association and the Party Committee. Notably, charitable activities, helping each other reduce poverty, improve living standards, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality. Accordingly, the Association has built and repaired 9 houses, worth 345 million VND; presented more than 5,700 gifts, worth over 1.8 billion VND to members, policy families, and people in difficult circumstances during the holidays and Tet.

From the internal fund to help each other do business, the entrusted loan capital, the job creation capital and the loan from the Rural Development Bank, jobs have been created for 5,639 workers, contributing to the poverty reduction target. By the end of June 2024, there are expected to be 132 poor households, a decrease of 18 households compared to the beginning of the year, a poverty reduction rate of 12%; near-poor households are 267 households, an increase of 8 households, a decrease of 7 households; average households are 7,430 households, a rate of 40.44%; well-off and rich households are 10,535 households, a rate of 57.36%.

In addition, the Association at all levels mobilized members of the War Veterans Association to actively participate in the movement "All people protect national security", prevent and combat crimes and social evils. Coordinated to participate in 86 patrols/579 members to maintain security and order, protect safety on holidays and Tet. Coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in agencies, localities and units to organize 37 propaganda and education sessions on patriotic traditions for more than 5,600 students on the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, patriotic traditions, seas and islands and major holidays of the country.
At the same time, propagandize and encourage 1,647 young men who have passed the military service exam to join the army, achieving the province's military recruitment target for 2024...

Discussing at the conference, delegates discussed and clarified outstanding results in the association's work, pointed out difficulties and obstacles in the process of performing tasks at the grassroots level and proposed to the relevant agencies for support in the coming time.
Accordingly, in the last 6 months of 2024, the Association at all levels will organize activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Association's Traditional Day; organize a congress to summarize the emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans" for the period 2019 - 2024 (October) and the provincial "Veterans" singing festival in 2024 (September); organize and direct the Association at all levels to inspect the Association's work; inspection and supervision work; supervision, social criticism and economic inspection, entrusted borrowing...
