According to Techcombank's financial report, in 2024, the bank will spend VND6,894 billion on employee salaries, 5% higher than in 2023, while pre-tax profit reached VND27,538 billion, up more than 20%. The average income of Techcombank's employees is also among the highest in the banking system at VND49 million/month/person.
A report from the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) also said that the number of employees by the end of 2024 had reached 40,475 people, an increase of 1,172 people compared to 2023.
The average total income including salary, bonus, and allowances of Agribank staff last year was approximately VND 16,385 billion, an increase of VND 834 billion. On average, the monthly income of this bank's staff was VND 33.73 million/person, an increase of VND 760,000/person compared to the average income in 2023.

Last year, Vietcombank spent more than VND12,200 billion on employees. With 24,306 employees by the end of 2024, the bank will spend an average of more than VND42 million per employee per month.
Meanwhile, the separate financial report of the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank) said that the cost of employees including salaries, allowances, subsidies and other expenses in 2024 is nearly VND12,170 billion. This level increased by more than 11% compared to 2023.
As of the end of last year, the bank had 22,492 employees, almost unchanged from the end of 2023. The average income (salary, benefits) of each VietinBank employee is about 45 million VND/month, an increase of 4 million VND compared to 2023.
As of December 2024, BIDV had 29,498 employees, a decrease of 282 employees compared to the beginning of the year. Each employee has an average income of 44.7 million VND/month.
In 2024, Sacombank recorded the highest average employee income ever, reaching 32.95 million VND/person/month, an increase of 3.07 million VND compared to 2023.
Bank leaders receive billion-dollar salaries
In its recently released financial report, Techcombank said it paid CEO Jens Lottner a salary of VND25.6 billion last year, an increase of VND1.5 billion compared to the previous year. On average, the German businessman receives VND2 billion per month.
At Sacombank, CEO Nguyen Duc Thach Diem received a salary after tax of VND12.9 billion last year, or about VND1.1 billion/month. Because she also holds the position of Permanent Vice Chairman of the bank's Board of Directors, she received an additional salary of VND1.8 billion.
At ACB, CEO Tu Tien Phat's income in 2024 will increase by about 15% to VND 11.5 billion.
Meanwhile, VPBank CEO Nguyen Duc Vinh's income has not fluctuated much, at 11.3 billion VND/year, while Chairman of the Board of Directors Ngo Chi Dung receives a salary of 3.36 billion VND/year.
At OCB, Mr. Pham Hong Hai received a salary of 10.4 billion VND.
Meanwhile, at BIDV, the bank with the largest assets in the system, Mr. Le Ngoc Lam - General Director and Member of the Board of Directors - receives 2.3 billion VND/year, equivalent to 194 million VND/month.
