By receiving over 115,000 units of blood, Red Journey 2023 has contributed to bringing life to hundreds of thousands of patients, helping the health sector ensure the care and protection of people's health.

  At the summary conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ha Thanh, Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Head of the Organizing Committee of Red Journey 2023 shared: “Thanks to these very encouraging results, Red Journey has contributed to bringing life to hundreds of thousands of patients, helping the health sector overcome many difficulties and challenges to ensure the work of caring for and protecting people's health. Red Journey has truly aroused love and solidarity, embellishing the proud tradition of mutual love and affection of our nation and joining hands to build a compassionate community".

Red Journey attracts many young people to donate blood.

Red Journey is the largest blood donation program of the year, first held in 2013, an effective solution to overcome the shortage of blood for treatment every summer.

Promoting that spirit and results, the 11th year program took place from June 1 to July 30, with the participation of 46 provinces/cities. After 2 months, Red Journey 2023 organized 68 official blood donation points, receiving over 45,000 units of blood; 240 response blood donation points, receiving nearly 70,000 units. The total of the main points and response days was 308 blood donation points, receiving over 115,000 units of blood. Thus, after 11 years of organization, Red Journey has taken place in 58/63 provinces/cities; successfully organized 2,653 blood donation points, receiving over 810,000 units of blood.

At the conference, Dr. Nguyen Trong Khoa - Deputy Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health) highly appreciated the contribution of the Red Journey in serving the treatment and emergency work over the past decade, thanks to which, hundreds of thousands of patients have been saved. Dr. Nguyen Trong Khoa also acknowledged the efforts of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion in communicating, chairing, and connecting sectors and localities to participate and create a widespread voluntary blood donation movement across the country. It is the important contribution of the Red Journey that has "powered" the health sector in many challenging periods, such as the Covid-19 pandemic.
