- Reporter: Madam, can you tell us about the history and meaning of International Women's Day?

- Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy: The Happy Day was inspired by the idea of ​​Bhutan, a small kingdom deep in the eastern Himalayas, which is considered a country with a high happiness index based on factors such as: health, spirit, education, environment, quality of management and living standards of its people. On June 28, 2012, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution to make March 20 every year the Happy Day. To date, 193 member countries, including Vietnam, have pledged to support, act, be more active and make more efforts to build a world of solidarity, improve the quality of life, build a fair society, develop sustainably, and bring happiness to humanity.

The United Nations chose March 20 as International Women's Day because this is a special day of the year, when the sun is horizontal to the equator, so on this day the length of day and night is equal - a symbol of the balance and harmony of the universe, also a symbol of the balance between yin and yang, between light and darkness, between dreams and reality... Therefore, International Women's Day also conveys the message: Balance and harmony are one of the keys to happiness.

In Vietnam, on December 26, 2013, the Prime Minister approved Decision No. 2589/QD-TTg with the goal of organizing activities on the occasion of QTHP Day, thereby raising the awareness of the whole society about happiness and building a sustainable happy community. The approval of the Project "Organizing activities on the occasion of QTHP Day every year" not only has social significance but also is a call for concrete actions for a happy family, a happy community.

QTHP Day is not only an opportunity for individuals to self-reflect and improve themselves, but also an opportunity for governments at all levels, social organizations and people of all walks of life to strengthen solidarity and cooperation. The participation of organizations and individuals at home and abroad creates conditions for meaningful activities, bringing joy and happiness to people across the country.

- Reporter: Could you please tell us more about the theme and propaganda message of this year's QTHP Day?

- Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy: The 2025 International Women's Day has the theme "Happiness for everyone" with the following propaganda message: Happiness is love and sharing; a happy family is the foundation of a prosperous nation; the family is the place to nurture and pass on good cultural values; happiness will shine in a family without violence; the family value system is the core of the national value system; building the personality of Vietnamese people starts with moral education and lifestyle in the family; domestic violence is a violation of the law; preventing and combating domestic violence is the responsibility of the whole society.

The message of QTHP Day emphasizes that happiness is not a privilege of any individual but a basic right of every human being. To achieve happiness, it is necessary to build a fair and equal society, where everyone is respected and loved. In modern life, with pressures and worries, sometimes we forget that happiness is not something too far away but can come from simple things.

So, spend time with your family, friends, and loved ones; focus on the good things in life, cherish the peaceful, happy moments, and know how to give. Happiness is a journey, not a destination. Let's work together to build a happier world where everyone can live in love and peace.

Happy families are the foundation of prosperous nations.

- Reporter: What are the outstanding activities in response to QTHP Day in our province, madam?

- Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy: In our province, activities in response to the QTHP Day will be held from March 12 to 25, 2025 with many meaningful activities, including promoting communication activities about the meaning, theme, and message of the QTHP Day in many forms, such as: Hanging banners and slogans along main roads; focusing on propaganda through the loudspeaker systems of communes, wards, and towns; organizing seminars, art festivals, physical education and sports activities...

The propaganda content focuses on promoting good people and good deeds; activities to build happy families and happy communities; focusing on propaganda about the Law on Marriage and Family, the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence; criticizing manifestations and acts of domestic violence and violations of family laws; encouraging all individuals, organizations and communities to have positive activities to bring happiness to relatives, families and communities...

Happiness is not only personal satisfaction but also community cohesion, sharing and mutual support among people. Maintaining and promoting traditional values ​​of the nation, such as: filial piety, affection, solidarity become the foundation for sustainable development. The propaganda in response to the QTHP Day aims to raise awareness of all levels, sectors, organizations, individuals, families and the whole society about the QTHP Day, thereby taking practical actions to build happiness in families, communities and the whole society, to expand the heart of love, sympathy, sharing, to aim for the greatest value of human life: happiness.
