Phuoc An Port, Dong Nai Province has just welcomed the first international ship of MSC - the world's largest shipping line, marking an important turning point in promoting international trade in the region.

Dong Nai province's largest seaport welcomes foreign ships
On February 13, the ship M/V MSC BEIRA IV, departing from Singapore, officially docked at the port in a solemn welcoming ceremony.
This event opens a new phase in Phuoc An Port's maritime transport and supply chain operations, marking an important development strategy in 2025.
Mr. Truong Hoang Hai - General Director of Phuoc An Port - said that this ship carried more than 1,300 TEUs of goods, mainly garments, fashion, and dyed fabrics.
Phuoc An Port, covering 183 hectares and located on the banks of the Thi Vai River (Nhon Trach District), is the largest port in Dong Nai Province. The port is divided into port and logistics service sub-areas.
The port subdivision has a total area of 183 hectares, a wharf length of 3,050m, including 6 container wharfs and 4 general wharfs, capable of receiving ships with a capacity of 60,000 DWT.
Phuoc An Port belongs to the seaport system of Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Nai - Ba Ria - Vung Tau area and was approved by the Prime Minister for detailed planning in August 2005.

With the ability to handle container and general cargo, the port has the capacity to handle 2.2 million Teus (20-foot containers), and 4-5 million tons of general cargo per year. Phuoc An Port project is divided into 3 investment phases, with a total capital of up to 20,000 billion VND.
Speaking at the ceremony to welcome the MSC ship, Mr. Nguyen Duong Hoai - Deputy Director of Dong Nai Customs Department - said that Phuoc An port was built with modern infrastructure, the largest in Dong Nai province.
The first ship arriving at the port is a great day of joy, the moment of opening the flow of trade and goods between Dong Nai province and the world and vice versa.
Dong Nai Province Customs has prepared human resources and is ready to carry out tasks and procedures for import and export of goods at Phuoc An Port. Phuoc An Port is the driving force for economic development in general and the logistics industry in particular of Dong Nai and the Southern region.
Green port trend, attracting international shipping lines
Many businesses expect Phuoc An port to become a convenient, safe and cost-effective storage and transportation point for goods in business transportation activities.
According to Mr. Truong Hoang Hai - General Director of Phuoc An Port - shared that right from the investment and construction, the goal of green port trend was determined, meeting international criteria to attract foreign ships. And MSC shipping line docking at Phuoc An port marks a new beginning, attracting more international shipping lines to the port.
This will help international goods from all over to flow into the port and domestic goods from Dong Nai to be exported smoothly, promoting the flow of goods via sea. This is the stepping stone to help Phuoc An port reach further on the regional and international logistics map.
According to Mr. Hai, this year the port aims to achieve high performance by increasing the number of shipments and expanding customer support services.
In particular, the port will facilitate customers to directly pick up empty containers and transport goods on-site, minimizing costs and time, optimizing the supply chain, an outstanding competitive advantage for neighboring industrial parks.
Phuoc An Port identifies the Net Zero 2030 target as not only a goal but also a core mission in its long-term development strategy.
The port is pioneering carbon emission reduction solutions, investing in green port infrastructure and modernizing clean energy equipment, with the majority of its operating systems moving to electrification.
Building international green transport corridors
Not only stopping at internal level, Phuoc An port also proactively connects and cooperates with shipping lines, logistics enterprises and partners in the supply chain, together building an international green transport corridor.
This is not only an inevitable trend but also a driving force to help improve the competitiveness and position of Vietnam's seaport industry on the global trade map.
The port's logistics service area, located in the center of the Southern dynamic economic region, covers an area of over 550 hectares, and is fully connected to a modern road system and convenient inland waterways.
This area is planned with many diverse functional areas, meeting the requirements of developing into a complete logistics service area in the form of "Door to Door", serving the needs of the oil and gas industry and industrial parks in Nhon Trach, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and neighboring areas.
