According to Yonhap news agency, the South Korean Presidential Office announced on June 15 that President Yoon Suk Yeol supervised the largest ever live-fire exercise conducted by South Korea and the United States.
The exercise took place at the Seungjin Firepower Training Field in Pocheon, 25km south of the inter-Korean border. The event marked the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the South Korea-US alliance and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the South Korean armed forces. More than 610 military assets were mobilized in the exercise, including South Korean F-35A fighter jets and K9 self-propelled guns, US F-16 fighter jets and Grey Eagle drones, with the participation of more than 2,500 South Korean and US soldiers from 71 units.
