Navy adopts fishermen's children in Thanh Hoa

On the afternoon of October 30, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province coordinated with Saigon Newport Corporation (under the Navy) to organize the launching ceremony and announce the decision to implement the program "Navy sponsors fishermen's children" in Thanh Hoa in 2023.

Accordingly, starting from October 2023, Tan Cang Saigon Corporation will support the care and upbringing of 6 children of Thanh Hoa fishermen with an amount of 500,000 VND/month until they turn 18. In addition, the children will be given a bicycle and supported with 3 million VND/child/year to buy books and school supplies.

Representatives of Saigon Newport Corporation and leaders of Thanh Hoa province presented the Decision on sponsorship and bicycles to students at the ceremony.

On this occasion, Tan Cang Saigon Corporation also donated 160 million VND to build 2 gratitude houses (80 million VND/house) for 2 families of people with revolutionary contributions in Quang Xuong district and Nghi Son town. At the same time, 50 gifts were given to 50 poor fishing households with difficult circumstances in Quang Xuong district, Nghi Son town and Sam Son city.

Colonel Bui Sy Tuan, Deputy General Director of Tan Cang Saigon Corporation, said: The activity "Navy sponsors fishermen's children" aims to promptly support, encourage, and nurture children of fishermen to excel in their studies and give gifts, share difficulties, and encourage fishermen's families who belong to households with revolutionary contributions, and poor households with difficult circumstances.

The activity "The Navy sponsors fishermen's children" under the program "Vietnam Navy as a support for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea" has demonstrated the deep solidarity between the army and the people and further strengthened the relationship between Saigon Newport Corporation and the Party committees, authorities and people of Thanh Hoa province. This is also an activity demonstrating the good qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers - Navy soldiers", a beautiful cultural feature of Saigon Newport Corporation in the new era. From there, strengthening mass mobilization work, solidarity between the army and the people, helping fishermen feel secure to go offshore, stick to the sea to exploit seafood, and firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

In 2023, Saigon Newport Corporation will implement the program "The Navy sponsors fishermen's children" in 10 provinces and cities nationwide, including Thanh Hoa province.
