On July 31, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung - Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee - signed a decision to promptly commend students, the school board, teachers who directly taught, and teachers who taught students who won prizes in regional and international Olympic competitions in the 2023-2024 school year.
Accordingly, the Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee awarded certificates of merit and bonuses to four students from Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, including: Nguyen Si Hieu (12th grade student majoring in biology) who won a gold medal in the International Biology Olympiad.
Nguyen Thanh Duy (12th grade physics student) won a silver medal at the International Physics Olympiad and a bronze medal at the Asian Physics Olympiad.
Tran Minh Duc (a 12th grade math student) won a bronze medal in the International Math Olympiad and Nguyen Tung Lam (a 12th grade IT student) won a silver medal in the Asian Informatics Olympiad.

With his achievements, Nguyen Si Hieu was awarded 500 million VND by the city; Nguyen Thanh Duy received 500 million VND (including 400 million VND for winning a silver medal and 100 million VND for winning a bronze medal); Tran Minh Duc received 300 million VND and Nguyen Tung Lam was awarded 200 million VND.
The total bonus that Hai Phong city alone spent to reward the four students mentioned above is 1.5 billion VND, according to Resolution 06 dated July 12, 2018 of the City People's Council.
In addition, implementing the rewards according to the above resolution, Hai Phong city also spent 1.2 billion VND to reward the school board, teachers who directly taught, and teachers who taught the award-winning students.
The total bonus money the city spent to honor and encourage students and teachers was 2.7 billion VND.
