Dak Nong's transport infrastructure has been invested in, upgraded and renovated in a synchronous manner, contributing to promoting socio-economic development.
By the end of 2024, National Highway 14C, the section passing through Dak Mil district, has undergone many changes. All four projects to repair and renovate National Highway 14C implemented in 2024 have been completed. The improved road surface makes it easier for vehicles to travel.
In 2024, the Vietnam Road Administration approved 4 projects to repair more than 11.4km of National Highway 14C with a total cost of 56.4 billion VND. The Ministry of Transport approved more than 7.2 billion VND to maintain the section of National Highway 14C connecting Bu Prang border gate, Tuy Duc district.
In 2025, QL14C will continue to receive investment in 3 projects to renovate and repair 11.5km with a total cost of more than 55 billion VND.
The 47km section from Dak Mil district center to Dak Lak province will basically complete the repair and renovation. The entire QL14C route through Dak Nong with a length of 162.5km will be much easier to travel.
In the east of Dak Nong province, many sections of National Highway 28 will also be upgraded and renovated. In 2024, many damaged and degraded sections of National Highway 28 passing through Krong No and Dak Glong districts will be partially repaired.
According to the leader of Dak Glong District People's Committee, in recent years, the Central Government has paid much attention to investing in National Highway 28. Dozens of kilometers of road have been repaired, upgraded, and expanded.
Improved transport infrastructure has made travel easier and promoted the movement of goods.
“Thanks to the upgraded National Highway 28, Dak Glong’s agricultural products can be transported to other places more conveniently. The most special thing is that the road to Ta Dung scenic spot is more convenient, contributing to attracting tourists to visit and relax,” said the leader of Dak Glong District People’s Committee.
National Highway 28 passing through Dak Nong is about 175km long. This is a winding, difficult-to-travel route and passes through Dak Glong, Krong No, and Cu Jut districts of Dak Nong. Not only Dak Glong, National Highway 28 is also the main route of Krong No district.
The leader of the People's Committee of Krong No district affirmed: The upgraded National Highway 28 has really created momentum for the locality. Many urban and rural areas in Krong No have "changed their skin and flesh" thanks to the renovation and repair of roads.
The Ho Chi Minh Highway (old National Highway 14) continues to play a vital role, of particular importance to Dak Nong. In 2024, damaged sections of the road were partially repaired, helping vehicles travel smoothly and conveniently.
In June 2024, the National Assembly approved the Resolution on the investment project for the construction of the North-South Expressway in the West, Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) section. This project is expected to be 128.8km long, of which 101km will pass through Binh Phuoc province and 27.8km will pass through Dak Nong.
According to the plan, the project will be basically completed in 2026 and put into operation in 2027. This is a particularly important project, a "dream road" with the expectation of opening a new chapter for Dak Nong in particular and the Central Highlands in general.
The upgraded Ho Chi Minh Road has created momentum for the socio-economic development of Dak Nong.
2024 is a year that marks a major milestone for Dak Nong in the development of transport infrastructure. A series of provincial roads have been upgraded and renovated. Many new traffic routes in rural areas have been invested in and built, creating a great driving force for socio-economic development.
Provincial roads 2, 3 and 5 will be upgraded synchronously with 800 billion VND from the central budget. By the end of 2024, the provincial roads will have basically completed the roadbed. Some sections have been paved, helping people travel more conveniently at the end of the year.
All three projects to upgrade the above provincial roads will be completed in 2025. It is expected that by the end of 2025, all six provincial roads in Dak Nong will have a 55% rate of reaching the 2-lane scale.
In 2024, Dak Nong will open many new traffic projects with large investment values in rural areas. In particular, the Dak Plao - Dak R'mang - Dak Som inter-commune traffic project has a total investment of 110 billion VND from the central budget.
There are 16km of road through 3 extremely difficult communes of Dak Glong district that will be newly opened according to the standard of 6m wide road, 3.5m road surface. This project is of special importance to the socio-economic development in remote, isolated and extremely difficult areas of Dak Nong.
In Tuy Duc, the project to overcome landslides and natural disasters on Provincial Road 1, through Quang Tam Commune, has been implemented. The project has a total investment of 90 billion VND with the goal of investing in building 4.34 km of new road according to provincial road standards.
The project is accelerating to complete soon, contributing to making travel and trade of goods more convenient for people in border districts.
Dak Mil district currently has a series of major traffic projects under implementation and expected to be completed in 2025. Of these, two major traffic projects connect Ho Chi Minh road through the district center, connecting with provincial road 2 and provincial road 3. The traffic project from Dak Peur border gate, Thuan An commune to provincial road 3, Duc Minh commune is newly invested.
The leader of Dak Mil District People's Committee said: Local authorities and people expect this route to create a strong driving force for the local rural areas. Not only helping people travel and trade goods conveniently, the project also creates momentum for economic development for the people.
In 2024, the entire Dak Nong province will invest in building about 221km of roads (renovating and upgrading about 104km and investing in new construction and asphalting about 117km).
The asphalt rate of the whole Dak Nong province has increased from 70% at the end of 2023 to 72.5% at the end of 2024. This asphalt rate exceeds the plan (72%) set by Dak Nong province in 2024.
By 2025, Dak Nong province will complete the upgrading and renovation of many major roads. Dak Nong province aims to increase the asphalt rate from 72.5% to 74%, exceeding the plan (73%) set by the Resolution of the Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee on the asphalt rate of traffic roads in the period of 2020 - 2025.
According to Deputy Director of the Department of Transport Ha Sy Son, Dak Nong only has one mode of transportation: road. Railways and airways have not been built yet. River routes have difficulty in terms of terrain, so exploitation is insignificant.
During the 2020-2025 term, investment and construction of major and essential transport infrastructure projects have been implemented. Roads from districts, communes to villages have been invested and put into use, contributing to synchronizing transport infrastructure.
Mr. Ha Sy Son said: After the completion of major provincial roads, especially the expressways, they will be invested in, built, completed and put into operation, which will promote investment attraction and promote the development of other economic sectors. The transport infrastructure in this phase is the foundation for promoting socio-economic development and strengthening national defense and security for the next phase.
