Fireworks at 31 locations on Lunar New Year

At the conference on preparations for organizing and taking care of Tet organized by the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee on the morning of December 27, the Capital Command said that Hanoi will set off fireworks at 31 locations to welcome the Lunar New Year 2024. Each district, town, and city will have one location, and Hoan Kiem district will have two locations. Compared to the Lunar New Year 2023, Hanoi has increased the number of high-altitude fireworks locations (from 7 to 9), each location will fire 600 fireworks. The 22 low-altitude fireworks locations have 120 sets at each location. Previously, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2022, Hanoi did not organize fireworks displays due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. During the meeting, Mr. Pham Tuan Long - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem district - said that during the New Year, the district will have a countdown festival (a countdown festival to welcome the new year) at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc square. At the meeting, Mr. Do Dinh Hong - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports - said that in 2024, the department has proactively developed plans to decorate, promote, and visually promote 7 fixed billboard clusters in the inner city and gateways to the capital. At the same time, 36 double-sided billboard clusters will be decorated on the median strips of the city's central roads; 2,800 banners will be promoted along the main roads and streets in the city center. In addition, artistic lighting will be decorated on the lampposts of 15 streets and routes; continue to maintain propaganda activities at 55 LED screen locations... "The Department of Culture and Sports proposes that the City People's Committee allow the maintenance of decorative and artistic lighting activities in the form of socialization" - Mr. Do Dinh Hong said.
