Hanoi temporarily suspends the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro line from 5:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. tomorrow (November 9).
"The train will be temporarily suspended from 5:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. After the commissioning ceremony and the installation of the construction sign, the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station train will be exploited and operated to serve the travel needs of the people," informed a representative of Hanoi Metro.
Previously, on August 8, 2024, the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station elevated section from Nhon to S8 Station, 8.5 km long, officially entered commercial operation to serve passengers.
With a maximum design speed of 80km/h, it is estimated that the line can transport a maximum of more than 500,000 passengers per day and night. The underground section (the next 4 stations to Hanoi Railway Station) will be operational by the end of 2027.
The regular monthly ticket price is 200,000 VND, priority tickets are 50% off for students, workers in industrial parks; buying in groups of 30 or more costs 140,000 VND. Daily tickets are 24,000 VND, can travel the entire route in a day. Tickets to stations along the way are from 8,000 to 12,000 VND.
It is expected that the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway line will be extended, continuing to go underground under Tran Hung Dao Street and down to the south of Hanoi to Hoang Mai, an additional 8km underground. This extended section will be financially supported by European donors, the French Development Agency, the European Investment Bank and the Asian Development Bank.
