On the afternoon of March 28, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake occurred in central Myanmar, injuring many people and damaging many structures in Myanmar and Thailand. The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has updated the situation of Vietnamese people in these two countries.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs directed Vietnamese representative agencies in Thailand and Myanmar to quickly grasp the situation of Vietnamese citizens.
According to preliminary information from Vietnamese representative agencies in Myanmar and Thailand, so far there has been no information about Vietnamese people being affected by the earthquake.

Following the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnamese representative agencies in Myanmar and Thailand continue to maintain close contact with local authorities and Vietnamese community leaders in earthquake-affected areas to closely monitor the situation.
Vietnamese representative agencies in these two countries are ready to deploy citizen protection plans if necessary.
People are advised to closely monitor announcements and follow the instructions of local authorities, and be on guard against earthquake aftershocks in the next 24 hours.
